At the road side, we have 2 Wiegela...one variegated, one plain...
I had dug them up from home,
And planted them out there about 10 years ago...
Needless to say...
They love it out there!!!
I especially like the way this one drapes over our fence...
And...the variegation stays all summer...very attractive!
Next is the Diablo Nine Bark in flower....
The leaves were deep burgundy when I bought it and planted it...
Now...only a small section still has the burgundy leaves....
What a gorgeous bloom....
My Bridal Wreath Spirea was actually at its peak last weekend...
I had taken a few shots...but forgot to use them!!
Nonetheless....
Still beautiful!
Hope you all had a great day...for a Monday!!
Very dark and cloudy here...damp...humid....kinda yucky!
We are having some fried rice I made with mushrooms, celery and green onions...
Some Ontario fresh asparagus...
Cod fillets...roasted to a crispy goodness...
Starting with a loaded spinach salad...{gee...I better get crackin'...this is making me hungry!!}
Enjoy the rest of your evening...
Do anything fun today???
Do anything exciting today???
Do anything at all today???
Cheers! :o)

Geourgeous Linda how beautiful are always yours pictures:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Gloria....
DeleteYour recipes are beautiful......
Your sweet flowers are beautiful Linda; they bring back memories of the Canadian spring I experienced in 2013.
ReplyDeleteHi Patricia.....glad I gave you a memory....
Deleteamazing blossoms, they are truly magnificent!
ReplyDeleteyour supper sounds wonderful as well!
They really were at their best.....hope they are still blooming next week...
DeleteSpectacular flowers, all of them!
ReplyDeleteThanks...I will tell them!
DeleteThe Wiegela over the fence is perfect!
ReplyDeleteYes...my favorite part too!
DeleteLovely bushes of flowers . Mine haven't bloomed yet but will be soon ! Oh super sounds YUMMY ! It was sunny and cool here in the morning but then changed to cloud and very humid, possible rain and thunderstorms this eve and over night ! Thanks for sharing , Have a good evening !
ReplyDeleteThanks Elaine...we got a quick downpour earlier....
DeleteHope the cottage gets some.....
Interesting that your ninebark leaves are no longer deep red ... wonder if it is the soil? That is a gorgeous wegelia, mine is a deep pink and a lot of the branches had to be trimmed off this year as they didn't grow after winter.
ReplyDeleteI repotted some hostas today, we enjoyed tea in the gazebo, we went for a nice walk this morning, I'm still filling all those drawers and cupboards in the new kitchen. It's clouding over now, perhaps a thunderstorm as the evening progresses.
We'll...if it is the soil....then too darn bad! I am not into that sort of thing!
DeleteSounds like you had a lovely day....the kitchen must be exciting!
We got a downpour around 5pm....at least I don't have to water!
Two of our neighbors have wiegela and they don't look nearly as nice as yours! I wonder what they are doing wrong! I'd get one if it looked like that!
ReplyDeleteBetsy...if you had one...it would look like this...you know you have the golden touch ♥️
DeleteToday I stripped the bed, hubby helped me turn the mattress (at the change of each season), did 2 loads of wash, started making lists for this weekend and my sister's impending visit next month, read a few blogs, made supper and we ate on the deck. Took pictures too. It was a gorgeous sunny and warm day here. Perfect. Your shrubs are beautiful, especially the Wiegela growing over the cute fence. Really pretty! Another nice day tomorrow and the deck will be completed. Yippee!! Enjoy your evening.
ReplyDeleteWell....I'm tired just READING about your day!
DeleteCan't wait to see pictures of your new deck....
We had rain at dinner time....and supposed to rain overnite....
What a staggering display of flowers and shrubs you have planted and nutured all these years.
ReplyDeleteI am tempted to write you a poem.
Sorry I won't be able to join you tonight for the Cod Fillets . . . . another lady beat you to it and cooked Salmon Fillets . . . . . and in card terms Salmon trumps Cod every time . . . ROFL
You can see I am a bit better today after yesterday's shock. :)
Oh? A poem for moi? About flowers?
DeleteGlad you are feeling better....
To be honest, the Cod was more dear than the Salmon!
Who is your mystery chef?
Just joking about the Cod - I love it . . . . . see? ♥
DeleteA lady of course!! . . . . . LOL
She is a good friend but way too old for me!!! I need someone about your age!! A nice blonde LOL
She is Maria's former boss, Pat, and she is a widow and owns the Care Home where Maria worked.
You can see my chuckle muscle and charm are fully restored LOL
Nite!
Yes indeed....
DeleteBeautiful flowers. We live for this right?
ReplyDeleteWe drove to the lake to go to the salon …..got our hairs cut! Got some color in my hair; decided I didn't like my car knitting. time to rip! But its all good
Hahaha! Car knitting...doesn't always work, eh?
DeleteSeveral years ago I had dreams of a picket fences and beautiful flower gardens. One was supposed to be on my living room wall over where the little girls I babysat would play. The other, outside my back door, but my green thumb isn't quite as green as I'd like it to be. Perhaps I can work on that.
ReplyDeleteLove your flowering shrubs. I have a spirea too and it's one of my favorites. My forsythia never looks pretty and I'm about to give up, yank it, and replace it with something else. (What I really miss is my beautiful snowball bush... It came out when we put the swing set in.)
May I suggest you cut your Forsythia quite sharply...perhaps next spring it will surprise you!
DeleteBeautiful Linda! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy!
DeleteI don't think I've ever seen the first kind before but it's so pretty. All of them are, you're a great gardener!
ReplyDeleteI do love gardening...it can be very rewarding...especially with lovely comments♥️
Deletedoing things fun, exciting - doing anything? now thats living to me. great post, linda. and i get to get some really great recipes from you, too. thanks for sharing. cheers!!
