Mock Orange in bloom.... |
As soon as we pulled in...it started to rain...so...we went to town!
When we came back....the rain had stopped...and the show began...
The waves were dying down...as the sky started it's performance...
And...what a show it was!!
As the sun was setting...
We retired to the sunporch...
For Burgers and Greek Salad...
Friday was bright and sunny...with light winds...
Picked up this gorgeous swan planter for $5!!!
Found a small Hosta that was just perfect!
While waiting for the ribs to finish cooking...
We found this "sun spot" outside the kitchen...
To enjoy some more sunset...
After dinner...
We went back down to the beach deck...
TO have our first fire pit of the season...
The sunset was beautiful...
And there was a half moon...
We had a visitor at the platform bird feeder...
Ate everything in sight!!!
Saw him the next morning in the tree...
Looks like he has a bad eye....felt sorry for him or her...
Hope you all had a great weekend...
Busy around here...
Boyfriend on a business trip...
Off to the cottage tomorrow with SIL Sharron...SCRABBLE!!!
Hope it doesn't rain the WHOLE time!
Enjoy your evening...
Cheers! :o)

Hi Linda!
ReplyDeleteThere's probably no cause for alarm but, stay far, far away from that raccoon. If I'm not mistaken, and I very well could be, Raccoons that come out during the day and look sick could have rabies! Perhaps, it's worth checking with someone locally.
As for those gorgeous images of yours, oh my word! Stunning shots! I noticed you have red Nicotina growing. Don't you just love it? Nice Swan too. She/He fits right in, lol...Thanks for sharing, Linda. Greek Burgers sound awesome!
Thanks ~~Louise~~ will watch for him...
DeleteYes. Red nicotiana....love the smell..
Raccoons come out in the day if they have babies to feed, the one in the second raccoon pic looks as though he/she has a corneal injury...most likely has been blinded in a fight,so he'll come to feed when there is less competition from others.
DeleteJane x
Is there anything more spectacular than storms over water?!!
Oooh....what a neat sky! Every photo is different as it changed with the clouds and setting sun! So cool! I can almost hear those waves crash....I feel like I had a mini vaca just looking! ha.
ReplyDeleteAnd...we just sat there...and soaked it all in...it was extraordinary!
DeleteI took a movie of the waves....incredible!
Glad you enjoyed the trip!
Hope you find some good weather at the cottage in spite of the forecast.
ReplyDeleteYour skyscapes are gorgeous!
We had a beautiful weekend weather-wise, but I sure was exhausted yesterday and today. I blame that on the headache. I'm hoping to sleep it off with some Benadryl tonight.
Thanks Martha...me too!
DeleteWill be playing lots of scrabble....for sure!
Sorry about your headache....feel better!
Enjoy the week with Hannah....we will get together soon!
I will enjoy my time with Hannah, if she ever stays home long enough. ha ha!
DeleteShe's out to lunch with her beau.
I saw the same moon while walking the dog. It looked like it was perfectly sliced in half. You had a fun weekend, I see. Loved your photos. We are in for some rain tomorrow but I think we need it. It's been really hot and sunny here. Deb

Wow, amazing skies and waves. It's rainy and thundery today, hope you fare better at the cottage with the weather. Perhaps we'll pull out the scrabble board and pretend we are at the cottage with you :)
ReplyDeleteAre they new shoes I spy?
Yes...do that Linda!
DeleteMy SIL is a retired principal...she most always beats me...well..ok ALWAYS!
Not new shoes...
Nice shot of the firepit by the sunset sky! Looks so inviting!
ReplyDeleteIt was perfect, as the temps had lowered a wee bit!
DeleteIt looks like you had such a nice weekend. The sky photos are awesome, I love to watch storms move through. Good shot of the raccoon, poor little guy. I hope he doesn't come around too much to bother you.

DeleteWhat a great 4th of July Weekend. Those waves and skies are just stunning. Those toes and legs of yours are surely looking tan. After the yard sale next weekend, I plan to spend some time at the pool in the complex. Sorry to say my legs right now would blind you with "white". Soon, but not yet. I'll post them AFTER the tan. HaHa
ReplyDeleteHa!

We had a great scrabbly time!
The pictures are gorgeous.. nothing like sea showing off its natural beauty.
ReplyDeleteBe very careful with that raccoon,
:)
this is Lake Erie, Marisa...
DeleteIt can be crazy at times!
What stunning skies Linda I could sit and look at a view like that forever, just perfect.
ReplyDeleteAnd guess what Jay? I love to do just that!
DeleteIt is perfect........♥️
Love those waves and flames Linda!
ReplyDeleteMe too!
DeleteNothing like a fire pit to calm the nerves......
Beautiful, beautiful pictures! I love sky shots. And those waves!!! Oh, I just love them all. The one with the fire is spectacular!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy....glad you like my photos.....
DeleteSuch amazing photos - I fee like I have been taken on a vacation too! Nothing like planting yourself in front of an ever-changing sky and water. Glorious. And what a great spot to toast cold tootsies!
ReplyDeleteGlad to have you along Suza....it is a great spot!
DeleteCrashing waves, warming the pink tootsies and beady little animals eyes on you. All fabulous photos and a great vacay!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!
DeleteYou lit a fire on the beach? Were you hoping that some passing ship would see it and come and rescue you?
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, and the pictures were. . .hmmm . . . .OK I guess.
ReplyDeletePerhaps Betsy can give you some pointers there. Gotcha!
Hey Keith - I don't think that was a nice thing to say.
DeleteProbably it's your sense of humour but please think of the implications, saying something like that.
Linda's photos are very fine and she takes great pride in them, rightly so, ok. :)
thanks Eddie...you are a sweetheart!
DeleteKeith....there is still hope for you...perhaps I should have referred to you as a "Scrooge"..a character everyone knows...and in the end...he did show that he had a heart...so, I guess there is hope for you!
And as for your nasty comment....water off a duck's back...
Betsy would not be pleased....
enjoy your day Keith...
OK Linda and Eddie. Please accept my apologies Linda, I didn't mean to offend you. your pictures really are lovely, honestly. The comment was intended as a joke. After I read your funny comment about me being a grumpy old man on Betsy's blog I thought I would get my revenge on you, and I thought you would see it as that. Obviously Eddie didn't either.
DeleteI won't bother you again with my silly sense of humour.
Oh, of course your photos are gorgeous and of course Keith was joking! Wasn't everyone kidding around since the curmudgeon comment? Yes, I think so. Nobody here is mean or nasty...we just all need to take a step back and take a deep breath....and find our sense of humor again!
DeleteKeith
DeleteSorry, Keith, from the comment you made I did not realize it was all only a joke and therefore I made my comment. Upon refection I should have realized it was just your well developed sense of humour and your joking reply to Linda's comment yesterday which today you say you enjoyed and thought was funny. Also, I should have emailed you and not made this comment here. Then the whole thing could have been sorted, hopefully.
Agree with Betsy
Hi Linda, I've missed a couple of your posts but am catching up tonight. I love the moody pictures of the sky and the bonfire ones too. Mr. Raccoon is pretty cute. xx Pam
