All Packed...Anxious To Go...

I have bought a few balls of lovely soft wool...

All packed....

Ready to go...

With me...[and my boyfriend]

On our road trip...

Once we reach our sunny destination...

My hands...

And Brain...

Will be busy most nights...

After a lovely walk on the beach...:o)

Creating a lovely afghan for my daughter..  :o)

And anything else that suits me....

I packed a couple of patterns...

One for an adorable hooded sweater...for Vivian...:o)

AND...

One for a cool "adult" toque...perhaps for my favorite dog-walker...and YOU know who you are...:o)

I love the softness of this wool...and I seem to be partial to the creams, greys and the soft green....I have used all of these colors before....Funny....that I bought all the same colors again!!!:o)

Perhaps these are more "Wintry" colors...I shall have to pick up some softer pastels in the future....I am looking forward to shopping the "Wool" aisle at Target....perhaps something a little different....A change is always good, eh??

Are you working on any small projects right now???

I will share my progress [or lack of progress]...

                 Along the way.....

We will be on the road by early afternoon...

Wish us luck in this crappy weather...

I guess we are lucky that it isn't snow!!!

Will check in along the way...

To see what you have all been up to!!!

                                Cheers!!!      :o)

Pretty & Petite In Pink....

This is the tiny Begonia that hitched a ride into the house last Fall...

He had gone dormant, cosy in her spot with the Purple Dracena Spike that I brought in to over-winter...

SHe is sending up lots of new leaves...

BUT...

Rather frail...to say the least...

BUT...

When she takes the time....

To send this perfect little bloom up...

I must ...

Stop.....Admire.....Dream of Summer...and...of course...

Take her picture...

To share with all of you...  :o)

Hope you are all enjoying this fine sunny Sunday...

Vivian will be arriving soon...watching her for the afternoon...:o)

On the good old menu tonight...

        Roasted Cajun-panko skinless chicken thighs...

         Diced roasted potatoes...fresh green beans...

And then.....

          Another episode of Downton Abbey...

Wonder what they will get up to this week???

          Enjoy your day and evening...

                            Cheers!   :o)

Latest At The Lake.....

This was the Lake on Thursday...

We went out to check on the finished sunporch...

Everything is back in order...

And...

All new!!!

Now...

When I say "all new"...I mean the ceiling joists...

FLoor joists....

And all new wood around where the shutters and screens go....

It was not a "pretty job"...

But....

It was a totally necessary job...

If we hadn't gottena ll this done...

We woudl probably fall thru the porch!!!

Or...

Even worse...

The bedroom above the porch...

May have been "ON" the porch!!!

Soooooooooooo...

It was a very important structural reno....

I will make it "pretty" again...

The very first chance I get...

The lake had its first ice of the year...

Actually....of the whole winter 2012-2013...

No snow on the lawn....it was so sunny....we could ahve sat out in a chair!!!

And......as it was a North wind....not too cold on the Lake side...

Even though it was -10c....it didn't feel that cold...wiht th warm sun...:o)

 Our neighbour Gus was out...

They are renting a cabin nearby for the coldest months...

He helped Dustin move a lot of the scrap wood to the beach...

My boyfriend told him to go ahead and have a bonfire, if he wanted to...

If the lake gets rough...all the wood will be gone!!!

As you can see...

There is only snow and ice..

Right at the beach...

This will probably be gone...

When the temps go up...

Next week...

So....

Here is the sunporch...

New floors...

New support beams and all new joists...

Winter shutters back up...

Ready to be beautified...by me...this Spring...

So....

That was our trip to the lake...

Had a nice snowfall yesterday....and overnight...

Hope you are all having a great day so far...

           On the menu tonight...

My Daughter and son-in-law brought homemade spaghetti sauce...

I am supplying the bread and a salad..

            And the wine...of course!!

Vivian and her Mom will be joining us as well...

                 Cheers!   :o)

Valentines Ready To Be Mailed.....

I decided that I needed to get my Valentines cards, ready...

They will need to be mailed before we leave...

The hardest part of making your own cards...

Is...

Finding just the right picture...

For those on your Valentines card list...

I don't make all frilly, lacey...red hearts kind of cards...

I choose from my stack of photos that I have had printed up...

Not your traditional Valentines cards...

That..........

Is for darn sure....

I look for something beyond the obvious...

Luscious closeups of juicy ripe fruit...

Blooming beauties from my Garden photos...

A vase full of wonderful White Tulips...

A favorite photo of our dear Vivian...

And the Hydrangea the bloomed on the day she was born...

A bunch of Tulips still bundled together...

No...

Certainly not traditional...

Not at all...

BUT..

That is [to me] what makes them so special...

And...

That is why I create my own cards...

To let...

The people in my life...

 That I love...

Know...

HOW much they are indeed loved...:o)

All sealed.........and ready to be mailed.....with LOVE...

And to our very special little Valentine this year...

                    Big Hugs and Kisses...

On the menu this fine frigid Friday...

Roast rack of Lamb...with a Dijon mustard crust...

               Roast Potatoes and Carrots...

                   Fresh asparagus...tomatoes and goats cheese...

And a few glasses of Merlot...tee hee hee...

Hope you are having a great day...

                Cheers!  :o)
