Funny Feathered Friends....

A few days before Christmas...this was the scene in one of our bird feeders...

This had already happened earlier in the year...

On April 2nd to be exact...

But....

We were still very surprised to see it again...

The first time it was a Chickadee...and then another Chickadee a few minutes later...

This time....it started with a Chickadee....

My boyfriend went outside....[I accompanied], camera in hand..

We have to unscrew the glass ball....

Unlatch the rubber gasket...

Mission accomplished....:o)

Set our feathery friend free......

We went back inside to have our coffee....

And what happened???

A Nuthatch did the same exact thing!!!!

Back outside...

Unscrew the glass ball....

Unlatch the rubber gasket...

And...

Hope that our feathered friend flies out...

Mission accomplished!!!     AGAIN!!!!!!

Needless to say...

I have taken THAT feeder down for a while...

And a darn good thing...

AS.....I don't want to be clomping out there in all the snow to let
Our feathered friend out...

AGAIN!!!

Hope you all had a great weekend...

Kinda crappy weather....some sun early...also some flurries and rain...

Tidied up from our dinner the night before..

           3 loads of laundry..

My boyfriend took us to Swiss Chalet for dinner...

                 A break from the kitchen....phew!!!!

Now...off to the couch...with my afghan...to wait for..

                          DOWNTON ABBEY!!!!

                Enjoy your evening...

                     Cheers!    :o)

  1. How funny is that! You would think they could climb back out the same way they got in?

    3. They just flap around inside...the holes are pretty big...and those birds are pretty small...

  3. It is probably a good idea to take that feeder down for the winter. I wonder if fitting some mesh over the holes would stop those inquisitive birds from getting in.
I'm already changed and waiting for Downton Abbey. :)

  4. It's a little birdie spa! Out of the cold, someone who lets you out after you have your fill of delicious seed. That's a bird's dream :)

  5. That is really cute but it's a good thing you were there to see these birds trapped inside the feeder or they might have frozen to death. How did they ever get in it in the first place? We haven't been to Suisse Chalet in months. Even missed the festive special!
