You may remember...
Last week I did a post of the cottage last year, on March 22...
Well....
Here is what it looked like this year!!!
Same date...
Very different...
No flip-flops this year!!!
One of my grasses greeted us by the kitchen porch...
A Hydrangea flower head...with a wee bit of snow on it...
My boyfriend has to sweep the snow before opening the kitchen door...
Can't believe the bonfire is still there....
The waves seemed to go all around it....flattened out the beach a lot...
My Yucca is lovely and green..and has little "hairs" on it..
That means it will flower this year...
Found a sole from a shoe on the beach!!! Odd?!
The sea wall and rocks are all covered in thick ice...
This will take a while to melt...:o(
Chunks of ice floating in the waves...
Not a speck of sunshine that day...
Even my log guy looked cold!!!
Lots of debris pushed up by the waves...
If it is still there next time...
We will just add it to the bonfire...
When I went inside....
The thermometer on the wall said it all!!!
BRRRRRRRR!!!!!
If it warms up this week...we are going to try a sleepover on Saturday, as I will be having the turkey dinner here at home, with all the kids... on Friday...
Wish us luck!!!
Took this shot from my upstairs bedroom...
Come on Summer...
Never mind Spring!!!
Hope you all had a great weekend....chilly here...bit of sun...
We went for a nice walk down at Lake Ontario again...
Did you do anything special this weekend?....
Thanks for all your nice comments on my latest crochet project...
It means a lot to me...:o)
On the menu tonight..
Meat Loaf....roasted potatoes and carrots...yellow beans
Perhaps some brown gravy....tomatoes and avacadoes...
Nice cosy meal!!
Cheers! :o)
linda
brrrrrr. i'd hate to be ANY form of wildlife trying to live in that.
ReplyDeletebut even so . . . that last picture is so beautiful.
hang in there summer girl!
love to you and yours.
and the little snow drop makes a perfect header for right now. you know . . .
the courage to peek its little head thru the snow.
wait. before you cackle and correct this black thumb . . .
ReplyDeleteit's a jonquil. or daffodil. right?
i still like the idea of a snow drop. LOLOL.
HAHAHA....I was just about to jump all over you!!!
Deleteyes, Tammy...a daffodil! :o)
I just told my husband about how COLD it is where you are. I can't believe the amount of ice! Brrrr!
ReplyDeleteActually...here at home... South Eastern Ontario....there is MORE snow than there...at the cottage! And it is actually SOUTH of here!!
DeleteGo figure!! The people who have cottages up in Northern Ontario are going to be waiting FOREVER to open them!!!
Yes, those photos look freezing! I love the icy waves and icicles and your tree guy! lol....he's shivering!
ReplyDeletedinner sounds yummy. You know, yellow beans just aren't popular down here. Isn't that strange? The only thing I know of that they are used for is canned ones for bean salad. You make me want to break tradition and serve some for dinner. :)
I love yellow beans...even more than the green...I find them more tender and flavorful...don't care much for canned beans...
DeleteGo ahead Betsy...be a rebel...break tradition...you would make a fine Canadian!!!! How is your weather today????
Perhaps I will plant some yellow beans this summer...hmmmm..
Awesome ice photos. Looks chilly at the cottage, but if the sun comes out and stays out it could be warmer. I like yellow beans too (never canned). We have a store that sells local produce that has been frozen, yummy!
ReplyDeleteHoping those temperatures stay above zero now.
It definitely looks cold there Linda! I love the icy looking beach and sea wall. Hopefully the long weekend will be a bit brighter and warmer. Have a great week! Hugs, Pam
