Beauty Secrets....From Me To You!

This a different post for me....

Hope some of you don't think less of me...

But....

I think by now...

You all know that I am a very vain lady....

But...

That's not all bad...

At least...

I admit it!!

I also love to be tanned...

And I know the dangers involved with this...

NOW!!!

Too bad we didn't have the same info...

About the sun's harmful rays...

Moving on.....

I have used NeoStrata Insta-Tan for about 10 years...

I use this all over, when I need a lot of color...

Like when you are going south...

And you are white as a sheet...

And burn yourself the first day!!!

Which...by the way...I have done!!

It is especially nice on the face...

As it goes on dark, there are no surprises...

Like....streaks...or splotches...

Love this product...and at $20, I think very well priced...

It is best applied after your usual face cream....and body lotion...

It just gives you that GLOW...of being sundrenched...not all pale and wimpy!!

When I apply to my arms, chest and legs, I first apply either my favorite...

Nivea Q10....all over....or Olay body lotion....

In the summer....when I already have some color...

The Jergens Natural Glow...is excellent...

Applied once or twice a week...very rich and moisturizing..

Along with a subtle glow of color....

But......not on the face...only the NeoStrata...goes there.....♥

Another thing that gets me excited....well...you know what I mean!!! tee hee hee!!!

Is when CLINIQUE has a special bonus offer on...

I have been wearing Clinique AeroMatic Elixir perfume for over 25 years...

My boyfriend keeps me smelling fresh as a flower...and...

When there is a bonus...IT IS AWESOME!!!

I was in the market for some new eyeshadow...

And.....I had a gift card from The Bay...

And.....They had a Clinique bonus offer on!!!

SO.......I bought this dreamy eyeshadow...in browns...just perfect...

And I got a new make-up bag loaded with goodies...

DEAL!!!

As you can see...it didn't take me long to dive in!!!

So......what is the verdict???

Thumbs up.......or........thumbs down??

Feedback please.....thank you!

                                    **********

Took a drive to the cottage...had lunch along the way...

My favorite...Club Sandwich...with mayo, please!!

While at the chilly, windy cottage...the roof guy arrived...

And the shingle delivery guy......YAY!!!!!!....

Took some great shots of them...and the awesome clouds....:o)

                                      ************

Hope you all had a great day...

On the menu this fine Friday night...

       Roasted chicken thighs...roasted sweet potatoes...zucchini..

                     Ceasar salad.....

Enjoy your evening.....♥

                           Cheers!   :o)

  1. Yay!!! The roof man came (doing a little happy dance, good thing you can't see it!). I like your post, it is nice to know any useful or interesting info that others have to pass on. Me, I'm as pale as you can get, even when I am "tanned" I'm the colour most people are in the middle of winter. Goes with my red hair I guess. Scary about the Aromatics Elixir - I wear that too sometimes, but I switch with various ones from L'Occitane and anything else I get as a gift. I love to read anything that you have to post Linda, it is always interesting, and as the winter comes (sorry, but it will you know!) I guess there will be less chance for flowers and the lake.

Off to do some more happy dance about the roof! Looking forward to seeing the pics of them at work - take away the ladders if they slack off and don't let them down until they are done! Gosh, I am bossy... xx

    1. People always stop me, and ask what my perfume is...
      Apparently it is quite lovely!!!
Glad that you enjoyed the post, Amy...
      Roof is scheduled for Monday...

  2. Remind me of this tanning stuff in the spring when I'm digging out the shorts! Good to know!

love the eye shadows...just redid my makeup, as you know...always fun to do something new and see what's out there!

    1. Thanks Betsy!
I use the tanning cream all year...love the look it gives...and nobody has ever said "Are you wearing tanning cream?"...they usually ask me if I have been away!

    2. I was like you....grew up when you didn't dare show white skin...and nobody used sunscreen back then! Thankfully, white skin isn't the faux pas it once was. I always check out the celebrities on the red carpet and they are lily white in their gowns. I do like a little color on my legs in the summer, though, and that's great that this looks so natural on you that people ask if you've been away...haha..love that!

    4. You know my makeup post a little while back and that list of what not to do...that I was doing? Well, I tried everything they said and decided that ...

      1. the lighter hair color did not work for me.
      2. I really do look better with eyeliner...even on the bottom
      3. I look better in bangs!
      haha...what do they know?

    5. And they are supposed to be the experts!!!
The funniest one for me...was the no mascara on the lower lashes!!! Heaven forbid!!!
My eyelashes are the biggest thing for me...
I have written a rebuttal post...for all the "Nay sayers"!!!
      Dare I post it???

    6. yes, post it!

the roofer with no teeth...had to laugh..,our roofers a couple of years ago couldn't speak English. Made me wonder if they were in our country legally. They did a great job, though.

  3. Those are great tips and products. I try to avoid the sun and wear sunscreen all summer and my face moisturizer has sunscreen in it too. I'm not a tanner anymore and I sure wish I wasn't back in the day. My brother has had 2 major surgeries for malignant melanoma from major sunburns he got at a teenager so I learned my lesson. Also I don't wear shorts anymore. lol Capris for me. :)

  4. I used to work in retail in a large department store so I was always wearing makeup and stuff like you have here and for over 35 years was a sun worshiper not so much any more with the sun but now that I am retired and back in the country all natural for me now . I will however wear a bit of make up when we go out for a special occasion . Hey if it makes you feel good why not . Thanks for sharing ! Have a good day !

I even only wear gloss lipstick!!!

  5. I am not a big make-up user, but I do find it fun anyway. There was a day when I was more into it but my "boyfriend" likes less make-up rather than more so I wear just mascara most of the time. My skin would be much happier if I either drank more water or had it pumped in via an IV bag.

    Yeah, for the roof man!

  6. I forgot to mention the other day when I was here; I LOVE that header! Whew, now I feel better. I'm afraid not much of that beauty stuff would help me any. I haven't worn make-up in years and I've been a Noxzema girl forever!!! I know, boring...

    Yay for roofs and shingles!

    1. I love the smell of Noxzema....wasn't that used for sunburns back in the '60's??? hahaha!
      Thanks for the header compliment!

  7. Every single product I have ever used on my face causes me to break out. I would love to be able to wear any of this! You always look beautiful.

  8. Glad the roofer was there, hope it got done before the rain today (Saturday).
Thumbs up for you, thumbs down for me on makeup and tanning products. I am highly sensitive to any scent so the only thing I use is Ivory soap and products with natural products in them. I hate that Sears has their perfume/make up counter right by the front door and I will go out of my way to avoid it, same as in any other store.

    1. I use Dove soap in the shower...used Ivory when I was a kid, but now, it feels really drying...
Sorry that you are allergic to perfume...must be a pain!
Roofer due on Monday...and today is a hideous, windy, dark, rainy... Saturday...YUCK!!

  9. Have never, ever been a sun worshipper but my younger sister was. She says she regrets it now and wishes she had my skin. I'm a soap and water girl with Ponds cream as a moisturizer. Occasional makeup because MY "boyfriend" likes very little makeup. I, too, have been wearing Aromatic Elixir for YEARS ... love that scent and people always seem to comment about it. Happy dance for your roof/shingles ... GOOD time to get that done before the weather sets in! Good post, Linda ... always interesting information and you are a GREAT photographer ... wish I had THAT talent! Linda

  10. Opps!! Meant to tell you how I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE your new header ... I must have spent 5 minutes looking at the colors and light when you first used it ... NICE!!

  11. Thank you for the tips! I love Clinique and rarely use anything else. But I'm cheap so I won't let myself buy more until I have used up every last bit of anything. I had a sample bottle of the elixir perfume in a bonus kit about 17 years ago and I wore it for a long time. I felt like a little went a very long way but I loved it.
