As we make our way out to the cottage....
We always pick a thrift shop to visit...
This time it was Grimsby...
The Benevolant Fund...
Where...
I picked up a few cute CHristmas books for Miss V...
One is a Fisher-Price Christmas song book...that playes the tunes...
She will LOVE it!
Loves music....and she is a fabulous dancer...as well!! hahaha!
While I was in line, paying for the books...
My boyfriend nipped over to the Town & Country...
For our regular order of fresh fries!!!
I was finished in no time...and sat in the truck, taking pictures of the surrounding views...then I spied hime coming out...Fries in hand!!!
So........I zoomed in for a close-up...
Come on....what's the hold up????
Can't you move any faster???
"Do you think she sees me yet???"
"Perhaps I should taste one"..
"To make sure they are ok"...
"Oh yes...they are perfect"
"Just the right amount of salt...and malt vinegar"...
"perhaps just a few more...as I wait for the traffic"...
"Where the heck are the fries?"
{I added this balloon...to my wrinkly face...saying "where are my fries?"...but...I see it is too small to read...so much for playing around with Pic Monkey!!!}
Perhaps a little more "softening" is needed!....ahhhh..the joys of aging!!!
Now...
We have arrived at the cottage...
I head down to the beach for a few pics....
Everything was very wet...
And the temp was 23C...very humid and damp...all at the same time!!
The skies were grey...
The lake was calm...
And...
The cottage was pretty chilly inside...despite the outdoor temps...Not a good day to have a sleepover!!!
Captured another buggie!!!
This time on the Milkweed...still too damp to release its feathery seeds...
These ones are growing on the beach...they pop up everywhere...
That large Mullion I showed you a few weeks ago...has bloomed!
Pretty,eh???? There are several others on the beach...perhaps next year they too will bloom...
The tarp that my boyfriend had put down in our bedroom.....was wet!!
The new roof goes up, on the 17th...not much longer...
I took a lot more pics of the flowers still blooming...
Will share them soon...they were awesome!!!
********
Spent this dark wet day....PUTZING!!!!
Played around with my pictures, and deleted a lot of pictures I had not used...
Also...added pictures back in to older blogs!!!
Where do they go??? And a big X appears!!!
It is a mystery to me.......'course that is nothing new!!!!
************
On the menu this Sunday evening...
Roasted Peameal Bacon Roast...
Scalloped Potatoes....fresh broccoli...
My boyfriend asked me to go out...but it is too yucky!
I will get him to make it another night!!!!
Enjoy your evening....
Cheers! :o)

You're so funny! You're the Fry Spy! Haha. He looks like he knows he's being watched. I'm no help with the photos; do you mean they won't upload to the old posts? I haven't tried to do that so I have idea what would happen. Hopefully they show up when other people are looking at the posts.
ReplyDeleteI am the Fry Spy!!!
DeleteWill sort out the picture dilemma!
Looks like a super fryday. Your boyfriend is just practising due dilligence making sure the fries taste good enough for you! Lol
ReplyDelete:o)
DeleteI love "Canadian" fries! Even if that Malt Vinegar isn't gluten free.
ReplyDeleteNot sure I'll be making my way north before it gets cold out, but one never knows when my favorite MIL will decide to visit. Sometimes that finds us taking a drive to Fort Erie.
I thought I might go antiquing this weekend, but I went out to lunch with my boy instead.
Funny about the malt vinegar,eh?
DeleteFort Erie is kinda near the cottage...we drive to Welland more often...I think Fort Erie was too far for a short drive,,,does that make any sense?!
Nice to have lunch with your son!...:o)
It makes perfect sense. My Darling's mom grew up in Fort Erie as did my FIL. (When we were married she was living in Crystal Beach and there was still an amusement park there.)
DeleteTakes us about an hour and 45 minutes to get to Fort Erie. Not a short drive, but not exactly a long drive either.
Those fries look good but I'd pass on the malt vinegar, thank you. Love the goose pictures. I think it's duck hunting season here and we usually hear guns going off at sunrise but not yet. Enjoy the week.
ReplyDeleteYes...we hear that at the cottage as well...
DeleteThat is hilarious! I would have to taste the fries, too. Well, I'd have to have my own serving lol....
ReplyDeleteIt has poured rain all day here...even hard enough to make our satellite tv go on and off! Cold, too! Brrr!
That is the "family" size box!!!
DeleteWe eat as we drive...
We didn't really have a lot of rain...just dull and dark...still warm...
I am cracking up! Who could resist sneaking a few hot, crispy fries? It was something my husband would have done too! Probably me too! I had to laugh. Loved the one of you inside the car!!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you have to put a new roof on the cottage. But at least you won't have to worry throughout the winter.
Oh, and I wanted to ask you....does your husband go with you to these thrift shops too? Mine would NEVER do that with me. He is NOT a shopper, and would rather poke needles in his eye than shop anywhere! I would much rather go alone for my adventures and treasure hunts!!!
Hugs my friend.
Kris
Ha!...And they are fresh from the fryer...very hot!!
DeleteHe goes with me...on our trips to the lake...or he goes and gets gas while I am in..and then I have to rush!!! He is pretty good...he sometimes finds something handy, that we can use at the cottage...but I do prefer going by myself...
That poor chippy chappy, he just wanted a little snack and there was a private eye following him!! Sorry that you are still soggy at the cottage, but I am sure that the repair date will come before you know it and then you will be dry and snuggly again. Loving the leaf on the beach pic, I would have that up somewhere so I could see it it is so stunning!
ReplyDeleteha!...that was the family size box....plenty for 2!!! hahaha!
Deletep.s. would have thought he would have bought you some too though!!
ReplyDeleteI want fries now. It is 4:08 in the morning and that is not going to happen! :-(
ReplyDeleteNice shot of the yellow maple leaf against the stones!
ReplyDeleteFries with malt vinegar ... the only kind I have in the house! Yummy, but limited while we are on a bit of a weight loss program and trying to eat much healthier.
ReplyDeleteIt's a rainy Monday morning, got a couple of errands to do in town, then probably settle down to some reading and crochet (got 2 different bags on the go)
