After The Chore Was Completed....Hot Soup!!!

The new roof is already covered in leaves!!

Love Lissa's boots!!♥

I must get me a pair of these!!!

Daughter Lissa...Anna{my son's gal}...Me!

The boys are hard at work in the sunporch!

Taking out the summer screens...and adding the winter shutters...

The view from inside the kitchen....

We leave the middle screen up...until we shut the water off...gives more light into the kitchen...and a wonderful view!!

It was very cold inside...you can see all the steam coming off the chicken soup!!!

My daughter brought Hummus and Chips...the perfect accompaniment to the Gluten-free chicken soup I made...

The soup was good.....enjoyed by all...except for my vegetarian son...:o(

Perfectly Yellow Hostas  in an old bucket!!

Miss V here for the afternoon....

Her and I visited our friend Leslie...who had an extraordinary Noah's Ark that she had hand painted....for Miss V to play with....very talented lady!!

Then...over to my favorite grocery store...for some fresh buns and roasted Turkey...

                                            **********

Brought in the rest of my "ourdoor/indoor" plants today...

Four very large Dracenas...aka "Spikes"....they are 3-4 years old...nice and big!

Lost my Dragonwing Begonias and Mona Lavender, with the frost last night...:o(

Oh well.....there is always next summer....

My Geraniums are loving it inside...♥

Do you bring any plants in to over-winter???

Have you been successful???

                                             ************

  5. Geraniums that were given to us by my late mother-in-law and late aunt ... one a beautiful pink we call "Mom" and the other a vibrant coral that we call "Aunt Pat" ... they do extremely well through the winter under some grow lights in the basement and they we move them outside come Spring ... lots of fun to keep them until Spring. Dinner tonight here is Dippy Beef sandwiches ... 3-4 pound chuck roast, 2 cans beef consommé soup, one can water, 2T Italian Seasoning and 1/2 jar (including brine) of Pepperoncini peppers. Combine all in a Dutch oven and place in a 275 degree oven for 5 hours (yes, that temp and time is right). Do NOT lift lid until end and then shred beef into broth. Serve on crusty Ciabatta rolls with a slice of Provolone cheese and dip into extra broth ... even better day AFTER you make! Linda

  6. Well at least I get to see somebody's roof completed. We won't even go near what's happening with my roof, lol...

A great gathering of family and friends for a Fall cleanup is the only way to go. I have finally finished mine and only need to bring in some of the seeds that I planted for next year which decided to come up now! I'll baby them inside in hopes that they make it, fingers crossed...

Thanks so much for sharing, Linda...

P.S. It's a long post at my blog you might want to wait until, Wordless Wednesday to visit:)

    2. I know a really toothsome ponytailed roofer who told me it should be fine until Spring. Fingers crossed but I'm going for a second opinion. It's bad enough I'll be trudging through the snow outside, inside will NEVER do! Maybe I better borrow those cool boots:)

  8. It sounds like you're getting a lot done. I'm so glad the roof is finished. You've inspired me; I think I'll be making split-pea soup with ham on Friday. My husband will be coming home from a business trip and I'll have it all ready for him to eat after his busy week. I'm a very thoughtful wife! Haha. :)

  12. Hi Linda! Your fall cottage and beach pictures are all so nice! They make me feel like I have had a visit. I brought my geraniums in too, and they have taken off like crazy. I think we are even too hot in summer for geraniums! They take up a lot of room, but feels so nice to have plants in winter.
