Perfectly Petite Pinecones....

 Last week at the cottage...

While working behind the shed...

I discovered a cache of fresh tiny pinecones...

My neighbour has an evergreen tree there...

And I guess with all that windy weather...

They blew down...

Behind my shed!

So...

I gathered up a few...

And then...

had some fun with Pic Monkey...

I have lots of ideas on how to utilize these...

The possibilities are endless...

In a bowl, with some festive glass balls...

With some silverey snowflakes....

With a touch of glitter added...{oh...I like this idea....I have some spray adhesive....hmmm}

How about arranged around a candle?....

Have you got any brilliant ideas for thee pinecones????

They are actually quite teensy....

But...they have puffed out quite a bit....

Since they have been drying out here at home....

This is how I found them...behind the shed...aren't they too cute?
Hope you all had a great day...

I had QUITE a day!!!

We went out to the cottage...and shut her down for another year..:o(

It was so darn cold...with the wind off the Lake....40*f inside!!!

BRRRRRRRR!!!!!!

I took some pics...haven't looked at them yet...

But...I will share the whole story tomorrow!

                                    *******

Flower for you all today...

Fresh Daffodils...

From the cottage garden...

With a Robin's Egg...and wee shell!

On the menu for this frosty Thursday...

      Breakfast for dinner!!!!!

scrambled eggs....
homefries and toast!

Enjoy the rest of your day....

                                   Cheers!   :o)

  1. I'm not sure this post is accepting comments. I think my first two disappeared into the vast unknown...

    1. Oh, look at that! Now it is. :0)

I was just saying how I need a pine cone collection too. Perhaps I shall check beneath the pine trees across the street and up the road. Or do you think I should purchase some of those cinnamon-y kind in the store?

  2. I have a bowl of pinecones with a few fake red berries and 3 vintage glass ornaments on my coffee table right now. ;) We had thousands of those spruce cones every year but they are greatly eliminated after having 2 of the trees cut down. They are such a nuisance to rake up every year and now we don't have as many. ;) You can use these little cones for lots of ideas. Did you say you got the daffodils at the cottage? In November?? ;0) How sad that you've closed the cottage for the winter. The cottage season just isn't long enough is it?

    1. That sounds great, Pam....
I have a big Pine on my front yard here at home...I gave up raking...I filled a bed beside the garage with them! The perennials grow right thru them!
It is sad...I miss it already...but we will visit often♥

  4. We love breakfast for dinner too. So comforting for some reason. Do you ever lay raw bacon across the freshly poured batter in the waffle iron, letting it cook along with the waffle? Mmmmm. Our fav!!
I will be collecting pine ones up at the cabin next week too. Love them as winter decor!
Have you seen them dipped in white paint on Pinterest? Awesome!
Sad to say bye to the cottage, even for me!!

  6. Oh, I love tiny pine cones. Where I live, evergreen trees are some of the most common types of trees that grow well here so there are lots of pine cones around and I love to collect interesting specimens. :)

  7. Displays of real pinecones are so lovely ... I've just added some to an arrangement by the front door (inside) and I love them in a bowl with a bit of greenery.
A very dreary day here, foggy, rainy, damp and dull. But on the plus side I got some sewing jobs finished, some sorting done and started an idea for a decoration.
We love breakfast for dinner too :)
