Finally......

Every time I see this wee bird....
I try and grab a photo....
He is such a quick little guy....
Flitting along the ground....
Or jumping from branch to branch....
But....
I finally caught him...and a friend...♥️
The White Crowned Sparrow is one of my favorite feathered friends....
He won't be here long...so....I must enjoy him while I can...

                                        ~~~~~~~~~~
Hope you are all having a great day...
Rained overnite....just cloudy now...peaks of sunshine....
Actually rather warm again today....bit of a breeze..
Lots of nasty weather all around...so...stay safe!
The guys are back working on my deck here...
Will be much better when fixed...after all...
It is 27 years old!!!gee...27...sounds pretty darn good to me!
                                                        ~~~~~~~~~~~

Hopefully I will get out to the front garden...and see whats new!

This is our long weekend coming up...usually the first real weekend of the Summer ....
Opening the Summer season here in Canada....
It is called May 24th...or Victoria Day...celebrating Queen Victoria's Bday...
The weather won't be quite up-to-par....but at least it looks like the rain will haved moved on by then...so perhaps a couple of days at the cottage...

                                        ~~~~~~~~~~~
I have the slow cooker on, with a ham bone bubbling...
Pea soup is on the horizon!
Great to take to the cottage....
Enjoy the rest of your day...
What are your plans?
Must be more exciting than me!
I am a right dullard lately....oh well...lah tee dah!!!
      On the menu tonight...
          BBQ'D Steak...marinated in Worcheshire and ground pepper...
            Baked taters with sour cream and fresh chives from my garden...
              Sauteed mushrooms,onion and 3 colour of peppers...
                             YUMMY!
                         Cheers!   :o)
  2. Love this post. So cheery.
    I just finished all my food writing/testing bakes for the day. My kitchen is cleaned and I'm out of my prep clothes and into my painting duds. Just taking a 15 minute blogger break and sipping homemade iced vanilla coconut coffee.
    You have a great rest of your day. Cheers and boogie boogie.
  3. I was in the area having my knuckles rapped over my mis-spelling of Lake Erie - and to ask a very serious question, but you are no longer there. Left a short message but returned here for a delicious BBQ'D steak and I must say I am very taken with your shots of The White Crowned Sparrow and his very shy girlfriend.
    Love the menu - do you live in a five star hotel and are you the head chef by any chance. . . . . or does the boyfriend do the cooking? LOL
    I notice I am first to comment! Cheers ~ Eddie
      To answer your many queries...
      No...I live in a 2 storey house...
      Yes...I am the head chef...
      No...my boyfriend is by no means a chef...and he is the first to admit it...
      The Sparrow is sweet isn't he?
      Kinda hungry...can't wait for dinner!
      Enjoy your evening Eddie...
      You know I am joking around for most of the time don't you?
      But I love coming here and I am so pleased we met in BlogLand.
      It seems that your b/f and I have a lot in common. We both don't cook! and we have the same eye a lovely lady! . . . . . and we both appreciate a meal cooked by our dearest - in 40 years I never ever forgot to say, "Thank you, dear!" :)
  4. You are never a dullard Linda! It sounds as though your deck has lasted very well to me, but it will be lovely for you when the work is finished. Great bird pictures, I can never capture them myself! Hope that your long weekend weather is better. xx
  5. Love your photos of the birds. So sweet. I got a good photo of a dove in her nest at my daughters home. I'll put that in my post if I ever get around to finishing it. I've been run off my feet lately with cat-sitting. Time for some R&R. I hope you do get out to your cottage this weekend. You must be so excited to think that you have the whole summer ahead to enjoy it. You lucky lady. It's just starting to rain here. Been a little cool today but still nice. I won't tell the retired guy what you are having for dinner or you may find him at your front door. :-b. Have a great evening, Linda. Hugs
  13. Nothing too thrilling around here ... nothing left in the kitchen except a sink propped up on the dishwasher and a plank of wood ... wall board going in tomorrow ... then flooring ... getting closer now.
    We had the white crowned sparrows in the garden this week, just passing through to wherever they spend the summer ... cute little birds with helmets on :)
    Pea soup sounds delicious, not major cooking for me for awhile till the new over and range get put in ... thank goodness for bbq and restaurants :)
  14. Nice captures of the white crowned sparrow. I think I saw one here last year. I saw the Bobolinks are back today and could here them chattering/singing away in the trees. Must have been 30 or more. Loud! I didn't know it was the long weekend until tonight. Yippee! I hope the weather is decent. We usually take a day trip to the coast to St. Andrews so here's hoping. Most years it's sunny and hot so we'll see. Today was really nice!
