the Birds & Bees.....

What a great weekend we had....

We hightailed it right after dinner on Thursday....

Arrived at the lake at 7:45.....awesome!

We are very lucky, our drive time is 1hr and 15 minutes.....

The evening was hot and humid...settled in and sat on the sun porch....

The following morning...I got the birds in the bird bath....and drying out!

While having coffee on the sun porch....

The baby Orioles were squawking all weekend...pretty eh?

And...our friend the Bee.....he also loves chives♥️(right Martha?)

Hope you all had a great weekend....

Beautiful and sunny at the cottage....except for some wierd dark clouds Friday night....

Took lots of pictures...gotta sort thru them....but....

wanted to show you these first!

                   Enjoy your evening....

Hope to get around and see what you have all been up to.....

                                   Cheers!  :o)

  4. What a great collection of birds - they really are much more colourful than our's. Nic shot of the bee too.
I had some sad news about a dear radio presenter friend of mine so I am very sad today.
I did a post about it this morning. He was so popular and only 68 - just snuffed out suddenly.

Glad you had such a great time at the cottage.

  5. Beautiful pics Linda. The baby Oriels are really sweet. I'm waiting for the tree swallows to fledge which should be soon. We had a sun/cloud mix and coolish all weekend then at suppertime today the heavens opened up in a deluge. Going to be sunny, hot and humid the next 2 days. I hope you have a wonderful week. xo

  7. Oh you are so enjoying this fabulous weather Linda. I'm thrilled for you!!! We actually had a bit of bird accident on the fence today. Poor thing caught his wing in between the fence slats. I gingerly picked him up with gloves and put him under some trees. So far so good but I am worried because he is a newborn.

I haven't seen Orioles in so long. I'm not even sure where they might be in PA. When I lived in Westhampton on Long Island, we use to see them all the time. Thanks for the memories, Linda. Enjoy Summer!!!

  11. Great photos, Linda. Love the nest shots. It's amazing what birds will use for nest material. This momma bird obviously likes colour. :) I love bird-baths and have to get one for our property. I'll wait 'til they go on sale as they are all $200 and up around here. Wasn't that some weekend! Still hot and sunny today. Hugs

  15. Beautiful photos, Linda. We had a gorgeous day today; lots of sun and a nice breeze. I ended my day going to a wake for an old boy-friend from high-school. We dated all through school and remained friends. He died suddenly from a heart attack at age 65. His wife said he was sitting in his favorite chair at home by the water soaking up the sun. And then he was gone. :(
