This Mornings Peonies.....

Good evening all....

Hope you all had a great day.....

We are without power, after a strong thunderstorm went thru.....

Horrific weather all over Ontario and parts of the US....

So....I am on my trusty IPad....don't want to disappoint!

Will publish as soon as the power resumes.....

I took these photos this morning....

With the sun streaming into my living room....

These Peonies awaited me on my return from the cottage....

I think they are magnificent....

I also have a bouquet in my bedroom....the scent is intoxicating. ♥️

I hope you are safe from this storm....plenty of tornadoes further north....

What a crazy Spring so far...temps in the 30's c today...sweltering....not complaining!

Enjoy the rest of your evening...

Power off for nearly 2 hours.....

Back in business....

            Cheers!  :o)

  1. Peonies are one of my favorites! Just look at them...what's not to like? haha. Ours were long gone last week and only a distant memory now. We did, however, have them for a good while instead of rains beating them into the ground too early.

Glad you're safe....terrible tornadoes in Nebraska here...twin tornadoes! Good grief!

  3. Beautiful header!! Gorgeous peonies!
I was at a restaurant and the power went out for a half an hour or more. I was getting ready to leave as it was getting more than hot in there and then the power came back on and our food came, so all was well.

  5. Helloooooo, I have missed you! What gorgeous flowers! I love peonies. Don't see them often here though. Oh my gosh, Miss V is losing her baby face, and has the most darling toddler face! Such great shots of her! That sweater is indeed, fabulous! I have many times seen something adorable in thrifts for my grand girls, but I know my daughter would turn up her nose. She has no appreciation for handmade garments. LOVE the pic of your boyfriend, waving with the whirly gig in foreground. So cool!
I have been so ding dang busy. I am pathetically trying to catch up with my favorite blogs. I only have my Noah boy for a few more days. Sad for me. Happy for them.

  6. Oh my, those peonies are absolutely gorgeous Linda, and so is that white vase. I have a small collection of milk glass, but don't have anything like that. Now I'll be on the lookout. I had no idea the weather was bad in Ontario - power outages can be quite a worry if you don't know how long they will last. Glad you are safe. P.

  10. Your peonies are gorgeous ... I love the deep pink ones, must look for one of those for the garden.
What weather, one minute I'm out trimming the bleeding heart and then it is pouring of rain and windy as all heck. We didn't get the worst of it though. June has had amazing rain storms.

  11. Novice gardener in the peony area ... are your plants in full sun all day or part sun/shade? I know not to plant them too deep or they will never (or take forever) to bloom, right? How do you rid the ants from the flowers so you can bring them inside without an infestation? The ants are necessary to make the blossoms open, I know ... sorry for so many questions!! They are GORGEOUS and their fragrance is so "heady"!

    1. Full sun all day long!
After I cut them...I dip them in the pool upside down....shake them...and the ants fall out!!
      Good luck with yours!

  13. I am beginning to understand that peonies are to be picked and brought inside to enjoy. They just aren't as much fun with their faces on the ground full of rain. Some just may find their way into my kitchen this afternoon.
We had wind, rain, thunder, and lightening, but the power here stayed on. Others were not so lucky. We will be playing "Pick Up Sticks" before we mow the lawn again.

    1. You do that Miss Martha!
Run them under the hose first...to lose the ants!!
I wonder what happened out at the cottage.....hmmmmmm....

    2. You will be pleased to know that a vase full of pretty pink flowers is gracing my table right now. They smell a little strong, but so far my allergies are tolerating it well. Didn't hose them down, but I haven't seen any ants either.

  15. Those were some terrible storms that went through Ontario and parts of the US yesterday. They dissipated before they arrived here but we had heavy rain all morning. Your peonies are beautiful and you got some lovely photos of them. I was looking at your beautiful living room and the nice things you have around and thinking I bet Miss V. behaves herself and doesn't touch them. Am I correct? :) My daughter doesn't have anything breakable in sight with her 2 boys but I had things out when raising our kids. It's all in how you teach them I guess. Stay cool.
