  1. Oh lordy, it's cold here. I'm back to wearing a coat and gloves. Feel sorry for our birds, too. I gave them some extra treats today. I love the Mourning Dove. Your photo makes me want to reach in and cuddle it. Cute photo of you and Miss V. Something to treasure. Your lasagna looks a lot like the one I make and I use cottage cheese, too. Hope it warms up tomorrow for you...and me.

  2. We had a fire to take the chill off, darn right cold and windy today! It called for tea and a book snuggled under a blanket.

Suzanne is in Toronto....I am in Mississauga.....about 1/2 tops!
We really should meet 1/2 way.....right Suzanne? Perhaps Sherway Mall?
I was shocked at the price of the doors! But....I have very expensive taste! Ha!

  4. They "say" it's supposed to be in the 60's next week in Northern Michigan ... what's what about "proof is in the pudding"?? Your cakes look delish ... will have to search your blog for a recipe (hopefully)!! Fireplace back on at our house ... even though we'd cleaned it out and shut it down for the winter ... just TOO cold! Eye exam today ... dilated my pupils and am so happy when they are back to normal. Slight prescription change so that means $$$$ for new glasses. It seems ANYTHING you do in the way of home improvement or maintenance is costly anymore. No choice though! Stay warm and hugs to that little angel! Linda

  5. Your baking and cooking inspires me, Linda. I do cook dinner every night but baking eludes me as I'm always trying to shake off those pesky pounds. But yogurt and berries with the cake...that's a yes! You and Miss V are precious in the photo. You give me the most loveliest compliments in selfie photos...have you ever looked in a mirror? Stunning!

Warmest here today all week-51 degrees, but nights are dipping below freezing. I lug in my urn of pansies about 7 p.m. Spoiled rotten plants!

    Stay cozy.

    1. Hi Jane.....
I do cheat with these loaves...I use a cake mix....but add frozen thawed bananas, berries and lemon zest....
It makes me think they are healthier! Hahahaoh,
Oh...I look in the mirror WAY too much.....but, thanks for your kind words :o)
We are in the freeze too....
How is your dear lake house coming along?

  6. Yeah, I'm with the birdies. Where is spring? I was out all day and was freezing most of it. I refused to give in and wear my winter coat so it was mostly my fault. Ha!
I love the bright red of the cardinal and the blue of the berries - such a nice composition. Juniper berries?
Went for lunch with friends and had wonderful Chinese dumplings - soooooo good. We had three types - one plate was fried (pork and chive) and then two plates of steamed (pork and cabbage, and spinach and black mushroom). Plus an order of shanghai noodles. Delish. Then off to another place for a double macchiato and chocolate soufflé. Needless to say, I am not having dinner!
Your lasagna and beautiful loaves look so appetizing and colourful.
    And what a sweet picture of L&V - "L" and "V" = LOVE :-)

  7. I think you should enter Masterchef Canada for the next season!! Your lemon bread and lasagna look so yummy. And Miss V looks like she's enjoying her dinner. What a great skyline view of the big city! It was rainy and chilly here today with that east wind and we may wake to snow in the morning. I wish this swirling weather system would blow on out of the east and head north or somewhere. We need spring weather. Have a super weekend of celebrating. xx Pam

  9. I always forget that Lake Ontario and Lake Erie lie above and beneath each other on the ends and have to look at a map to reorient myself. I've been driving along the lake on my way to and from work. Every day is different and every day on my way home I think, "I should have packed my camera."

    1. Hi Martha!
I lose my bearings, when we go under Lake Ontario....can't figure out east from west....But I do know....
      The cottage is South!
      Always take your camera!
      How was your day?

    2. All my life the Lake has been north. I never get lost because when you live in a lakeside town, you can only go so far off course driving north. Here the lake reorients me instead of throwing me off.
The last two days at work were pretty good. There are some bumps in the road, but I'm getting there.

  10. Happy Belated Earth Day. Your food photos always look delish. I'm a little different, I use ricotta in my lasagna. I also love the photo of Nana and Miss V. It was sooo cold today, reminds me of a picture book that I used to read in my Grade one classroom, "Where is Spring?" Enjoy the family on the weekend, LSK...
