What a lovely weekend we had at the cottage...
Lots of sunshine and unseasonably warm temps...
Not complaining...
We have all waited for this a long time...
Seems longer every Spring..
Oh gee...
Guess I am getting old! hahaha!
The Tulips are fading...and all kinds of nice fresh new stuff is emerging in my cottage gardens...
Lots of Forget me Nots still around...tons of Solomon Seal...
And the precious Lily of the Valley were new this weekend...
The Lilac bushes are bursting with fresh blooms...
You can smell it everywhere at the cottage...:o)
Still warm and humid today here...
Thank goodness for that rain last Thursday...
But...I did water Miss V's garden...💚
The heater is on the pool...ready for her visit this week...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am making blackened Red Snapper on the BBQ...
Some rice and sauteed veggies alongside...
Just gonna go outside and enjoy some Greek Salad...
Enjoy your evening...and the rest of your long weekend if applicable!
Cheers! :o)
My tulips never bloomed this year. I think it's time to replace them. So glad you had some beauties for me to enjoy. Dinner sounds good. Have a good week. Summer is here!
HI ~~Louise~~...yes indeed! Hope you are well....
DeleteI love tulips. There is a beautiful one that has been "made" for Canada's 150th next year. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHad an amazing tri-coloured beet salad last night with finely sliced pear, pine nuts, a wonderful soft cheese and beautifully grilled swordfish. Yum.
I saw that! Looks like our flag! Oh my...that sounds delicious!
DeleteOrioles are one of my favourite birds. They like the apple blossoms in our back yard. Aren't they a beautiful flash of colour when they fly? -Jenn
ReplyDeleteYes...and I love their soulful song....:o)
DeleteI have not seen an oriole on the prairies for YEARS! Occasionally one gets lost and shows up here but they must have better GPS these days.
ReplyDeleteGuess it is not their territory!
Deleteit looks and sounds amazing,, the tulips are still going strong here,,we are a bit behind you though,,
ReplyDeleteYes....and the cottage is somewhat cooler...when the wind comes off the cold lake in the Spring....
DeleteOur tulips are all finished, but today the blooms are peonies, poppies, purple iris, snow in summer and the potentilla shrub is just starting to flower. Every day brings something new.
ReplyDelete,I saw a few of those today, here at home!
DeleteI'm never quite sure whether to smile at old tulips or feel bad.
ReplyDeleteA bit of both I guess....
DeleteGorgeous blooms, Linda! Yes, everything is coming alive with all of the rain. Our grass is growing, I think I need a few goats! lol!
ReplyDeleteYour menu sounds wonderful, you always inspire me, keep sharing. Is your pool at your year round home or cottage? It sounds heavenly!
Jane
Thanks Jane....
ReplyDeleteThe pool is here at home...lots of work!
