Yummy.............
Yesterday...
Among other things...Miss V and I baked up a few cookies...
I followed Deb's recipe..she is at Just Cats in my sidebar...lovely blog...
But...Miss V and I decided to add some butterscotch chips as well...
Oh my dear...they were delicious...and chewy...just the way I like them!
Thanks Deb...such an easy recipe too!!
We kept ourselves busy all day!! Planting...raking...sweeping...gluing...
Had a wonderful day...
Will show you the planter we potted up soon...
Hope you all had a great day...I am anxious for my boyfriend to come home...
That hideous fire is creeping ever closer to where he is...
I cannot imagine what those poor people are going thru...
I have been watching it on the tv on and off all day...
And...it doesn't seem to be getting any better...so tragic...
Keep Alberta in your thoughts...
Enjoy your evening...
Cheers! :o)

Absolute yummy . . :)
ReplyDeleteThe Alberta fire has made out TV news . . . I do hope your b/f is safe and remains so and comes back to you soon.
I feel for the people there . . .
Hi Eddie....
DeleteThey were yummy...I sent the tin home with them!
Yes...very sad indeed...
Look really delicious Linda ,look amazing !!
ReplyDeleteBut I love the face of miss Va cooking :) adorable :)
Hi Gloria...
DeleteShe loves to bake! Especially tasting the chocolate and butterscotch chips! Hahaha!
Kids helping out make the cookies all that much better ;) Another successful day with Miss V. The cookies look delicous! Such continued terrible news from Alberta. And so many with nothing to go back for.
ReplyDeleteThey do! She just loves to help!
DeleteI am watching CBC right now...horrible!
:)Don't you just love their little hands and fingers?:)
ReplyDeleteYes...I sure do! She loved handling the dough!
DeleteGlad you enjoyed them Linda. V looks so cute mixing away. Such concentration. :)I just baked up a batch of blueberry muffins today. There is no doubt I will never be size 8 again. lol
ReplyDeleteI have been upset about the fires, too. What could be more devastating. Can you just imagine leaving behind everything near and dear to you. :( Heartbreaking.
Size 8? I would be thrilled with size 11! Hahaha!
DeleteDon't give me any ideas...love blueberries....
I cannot imagine what those people are going thru....awful to think about...very heartbreaking...
You are making some wonderful memories for Miss V! I hope everyone is safe from the harm of the wildfires.
ReplyDeleteOh me too Laurie....scary stuff!
DeleteI try to stay away from the news but I keep tuning in to watch the fire. It is unfathomable. All we can do is pray for rain.
ReplyDeleteSo true Birdie....
DeleteThose cookies look so tasty. I've never added butterscotch chips to anything... and now I will!
ReplyDeleteThe fires. So tragic. My brother lived in Alberta for 25+ years and I have friends and family there. Was watching some of the footage last night. Just terrible. I have made a donation and I know thousands of others have, too. Canadians always rally!
Hope bf makes it home safely. xo
Hi Suzanne....yes...add the butterscotch....delish!
DeleteGood for you to donate...we are a strong bunch...
Fingers crossed he doesn't get stalled in Edmonton...they are rerouting flights and sending lots of people to Edmonton....
Yes, poor Alberta! It's been in our news, too! They need tons of rain to help stop that!
ReplyDeleteBoy, those cookies look good...the butterscotch chips were a great idea!
Sweet picture of V's little hand...Aw.
Thanks Betsy...she loves to do ANYTHING!
DeleteOh, Linda, I didn't realize that the BF's business trip was in Alberta. I feel awful for every one living through this tragedy and hoping for rain! I just baked oatmeal/apple streusel muffins for my visit to the grandkids tomorrow, used applesauce and yogurt instead of sugar, less guilt! :) Hope the BF gets home without any flight delays.
ReplyDeleteHopefully he will be home this evening...
Deleteenjoy your trip to your daughters!
Thanks, Linda. and please maybe post a message for all of your kind blog followers when the BF is home safely tonight? If you remember, ha, ha... Good luck about the connecting flights!
DeleteThanks Hester...
DeleteHis route has changed...Grande prairie to Calgary to Winnipeg to Toronto,,,Geesh! He'll be beat!
It's not just the worst nature-related disaster in Alberta's history but in all of Canada's as well. The only thing that will stop it is heavy rain and there's none in the forecast. The fire won't run out of fuel anytime soon because northern Alberta is wall-to-wall trees.
ReplyDeleteSuch a tragedy...:o(
DeleteYummy cookies indeed. Love adding butterscotch chips too. The cookies look wonderful. I made a batch of chocolate chip...the favorite of the children here at the Villa. Plain choc. chip no nuts. So that's what I made. Gotta keep the kids happy!!! I had the leftover apple pie.....
ReplyDeleteYou are so good to those wee kiddies! They must adore you, Wanda!
Deletethose tiny fingers pressing down the dough are so sweet, sound and look like wonderful cookies!!!
ReplyDeleteShe likes getting right in there! hahaha1 Gotta love her!
DeleteWhat a great little cook is Miss V, and you are setting her up for a lifetime love of the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteI saw film of the Canadian fires on TV tonight - what a dreadful event, a huge disaster. They said thousands of people are displaced. So sorry for all those people, and hope they are cared for. And that your man comes safely home this weekend :)
Yes Patricia...horrible disaster!
DeleteJust spoke with him..he has 2 connecting flights...hopefully no glitches!
You are baking wonderful memories, as well as delicious cookies, with Miss V. Fingers crossed your boyfriend is home soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda...me too!
DeleteI thought about making cookies with my grandbabies yesterday, but then I remembered there are three of them and the bickering over who gets to sit where or stir or add this and that... and I decided it might be easier to bake without them and just let them enjoy the fruits of my labor. Maybe that's why so many Grandma's just keep a staff of cookies handy.

You are so right Martha! I cannot imagine 3 kids trying to add stuff...stir...taste! hahaha1
DeleteYou are a seasoned Grandma...you lucky thing you!
Perhaps if I am lucky enough to have more, Miss V can be the teacher!!
Staff.... ? Not sure exactly what that was supposed to be... ah stash. A stash of cookies handy.

Praying for Alberta. The fire looks terrible.
DeleteYes...hideous! And...it will greatly affect the Canadian economy....:o(
DeleteSweet, sweet granny . . .
ReplyDeleteMiss V will always remember "baking days" . . . I am sure . . .
I wonder what she is thinking when she looks at those little butterscotch morsels!
Tragic and sad . . . the fires . . .
Hope your boyfriend arrives back home very soon!
I think so too Lynne...she loves the routine of things....seems to ground her...bless her heart!
DeleteShe loved those morsels! Butterscotch was a new word for her...I think she is hooked!
He has started his journey...home late this evening....:o/
Those cookies look so yummy! What a great little helper.
ReplyDeleteShe sure is Linda...and I love it!
DeleteI love chipper cookies! I hope your boyfriend returns soon. Just read that Fort St. John BC is under evacuation as well. So much devastation and sadness. Hugs.
