Today.....At The Feeders.....

Today started out much like everyday outside my kitchen window....where we keep a few of our bird feeders. It enables us to get a better look at the birds....BUT.....sometimes...all you get is a big flock of Sparrows...flicking the seed everywhere....Which leads us to the next photo...All that flicking brings Red a runnin'....he must be hiding in one of his many tunnels...and leaps at the chance for some ground feeding...Does he think I can't see him there???? Rubbing his little claws together at the thought of some nice fat juicy sunflower seeds....

Then.....he decided to sit on our reindeer....casually looking around.....noone will suspect my next move..."there....I knocked it off...AGAIN!!!!" And just in time to scare the female Cardinal away...

"I'll just run up into one of these cedars...which you can see I have been picking apart...Linda needs more work to do in the spring in this backyard...I will help her by tearing these cedars to shreds"...

The reward for the whole show was this.......At least Mrs Cardinal got a few sunflower seeds for herself...:o)

Hope you all had a great day...

CLoudy here most of the day...

At least I got the dining room table stuff all packed away...

And I got a haircut...

Watching Vivian for a while....she is napping as I write this post..:o)

On the menu tonight....

That beefy stewey vegetabley soup I made the other day...
                       Looks awesome..

          And Toasted Western Sandwiches...

Casual dining....getting back in the swing of things...

                         Cheers!   :o)

  1. In our last home in the US, we had bird feeders outside in the garden and cardinals and wee little birds would squabble all day over the bird seed. I even had a hummingbird come around a couple of times. The way I carried on, you would think the Queen stopped by :)
I look forward to bird feeders and hummingbirds again, although we have many hummingbirds here in the parks.
Can I have Vivian please ? or do I have to get my own ? :)

  4. Cute pics of the squirrel and the cardinal. My friend down the road had 4 pairs of cardinals in her yard today! I was in town most of the day so I hope I didn't miss them. I'll be watching the feeders tomorrow for sure. I've only ever seen one female cardinal here years ago.

  5. We have had a flock of starlings at the feeders ... certainly worse than sparrows. They devour everything in sight.
Love the cardinals, both male and female have been visiting. We feed them safflower seed, not too many other birds like that.
We had light snow most of the day, some has settled and at least the dirty snowbanks look white for awhile.

  8. Love the cardinals! Squirrels, though a nuisance, do provide a certain amount of entertainment. I'm still thinking perhaps we need a few extra bird feeders just outside Mom's window.
