A Bit Of Crochet........
I have been working on a few crochet items for a while...
A few I have even completed!
A new cowl and headband for Miss V to match her new winter jacket...
It has purples in it, so thought this would be a good match...
The cream scarf to the right is for moi!
Just started it last night...
A very quick pattern...
Gonna make it nice and wide...and long enough to go around twice...
I guess a fringe when finished...
Will show you all then...
I like that the pattern kinda resembles knitting...
I learned how to knit years ago...but let it go...perhaps I should try again...so many nice patterns in knitting...
think it will be long enough?? hahaha!
Oh yes...
I also got a pedicure last week...
First one in ages...
Gotta keep those toes looking good!
Now...
This little basket I started way back in the summer...
It got shuffled away...
But now that she is out...
I will finish her up!
Got this scarf for my boyfriend done last week...
I even got him to model it for me!!! miracle!
It is the same pattern I am making mine from...
The thickness of wool really changes the way it looks...
His is really soft...
We will see if he actually wears it!
If and when...I will capture it!
This hat that I made for Miss V has been all over the internet...
I bought the pattern from ETSY...
We think she looks like an EWOK in this one!!
I will be making lots of these...pretty easy...
The ears were the hardest to position properly!
In the picture below...
There is a picture of her in her OWL hat in the background!
How cute is that?!
Hope you are all having a great day...
Finally did a wee bit of decorating for Thanksgiving..
And I got the dining room table set...
Just need some fresh flowers for the table...
****************
Tonight we are having Maple Syrup baked Salmon filets...
White rice and fresh yellow beans...
I am kinda hungry, so I think I will make a greek salad for starters...
Enjoy the rest of your day...
A mix of weather today...sunny...rainy...windy...now it is quite dark...only 4:45pm!!
YIKES!!!
Cheers! :o)

Hahaha, on the foot at the end there.
ReplyDeleteOh you know me....gotta get my toes in the pictures!
DeleteI love it. I used to always have my feet on my blog. Not naked like yours. You're so daring and wild.
DeleteIn answer to your comment: I use the stock too when making the stuffing, but I've never made bread using stock instead of water. Bread done but haven't broke into it yet.
Nice that you make her meal gluten-friendly.
How about a corn bread stuffing? With homemade corn bread. Ohhhhhh ...so good. The bread. We've never had enough leftover to make into stuffing.
Daring and wild? Yahoo!
DeleteNever made corn bread...perhaps you could throw a few loaves across the Lake!
I told her if she wanted me to make a small batch with gluten-free bread...but she said" don't worry Mom....the turkey is great".....Awwwwwww....
Now that I have a new stoneware loaf pan, I just might make those and toss you some across the lake.
DeleteMade the stuffing last night from the new bread, then made more for tonight's Thanksgiving meal. Oh my gosh. So good. The chicken stock to make the dough, is a big fat GO!
Do you like to bake?
DeleteI'm almost done a headband for myself...I'm hoping it will keep my ears warm ,but I think I prefer V's hat!
ReplyDeleteJane x
Crochet, Jane?
DeleteI love to crochet....the rhythm is so soothing......
I'm going to learn to crochet as I've heard it goes faster than knitting.
DeleteJane x
Crocheting headbands is super easy....
DeleteLots of free patterns on the internet!
Good luck!
WOW.
ReplyDeletethis WHOLE POST.
WOW.

DINNER!
WOW.

♥
Love your comments Tammy....
DeleteSo much enthusiasm....so excited....love it!
Will you comment 4ever?
Pleeeeeeease?
I love your crocheting. It always looks perfect. Does V ever look cute in her hat. I love that. I'm starting to knit again now as the weather changes but just doing some scarves for now.Think I'll do one for little Gwynn. Your dinner sounds so yummy. I love salmon and maple syrup together. Mmmmm
ReplyDeleteWish I could knit again....oh well.....maybe someday...
DeleteA scarf for Gwynn....perfect!
Dinner was darn good....I must say!
That is one lo-o-o-o-ong scarf. I've been sorting out some projects as well. Cool weather = more inside time so time for knit and crochet.
ReplyDeleteThat is a cute hat for Miss V, will be good for the really cold days that will be coming ... but not yet :)
I bought chocolate turkeys today for the Thanksgiving table, the local chocolate store, Donini's sell them, so cute.
I like them long....wrap around a few times....cosy!
DeleteYou are an excellent knitter Linda.....very talented!
Chocolate turkeys,eh?
Sweet!
Without understanding the complexities of crocheting (or even knitting) all I can say is that your work looks very impressive. I see you have to be on your toes for it!!! . . . in flip flops maybe . . . isn't it a bit cold now for f/fs . . . . temperature falling here almost as fast as the stock market . .
ReplyDeleteLove Miss V's hat - looks nice and warm . . . :)
Hi Eddie.....
DeleteCrochet is the mostest difficult of any hand crafts!
Hahaha!
I am kidding....not too difficult....just keeping the tension in check is the most difficult....
Don't despair....flip flop weather is not over....never say die!
I bet you...I'll have flip flops on this weekend.....are we on?
I might surprise you one day ~ I might have a go!
DeleteYou are on with the bet!! What are you going to bet?
But hang on a minute - even if Lake Erie froze over you would still slip those pretty little toes into some flip flops, take a photo quick and stick them back into your Eskimo shoes . . . . . lol.
A contrived bet . . . . rofl
Love it when you said "Don't despair! . . . flip flop weather is not over!"
The eternal optimist eh! . . . . . . lol
Supposed to be 14c on Friday, Eddie...
DeleteThem there's flip flop weather!
ESKIMO SHOES? Now you have gone too far!
I'll bet that I don't EVER wear Eskimo shoes...what are they anyway?
Eskimo Shoes . . . hahaha!
DeleteJust a figment of my imagination . . . but whatever they are they sound pretty good in very cold weather.
Next Friday 14c eh!! . . . . . in that case I shall defer the bet for a while . . . . lol
Good thinking!
DeleteSee 'ya!
I do believe this man has a crush on you...or at least your feet! :)
DeleteHahaha! You think? Naaaaa...just kidding around......right? Hahaha!
Deletelol ~ not saying a word ~ haha
DeleteIt's fun to discover more of your creative talents today. Crocheting sounds a lot more relaxing than the ladies' fitness class this morning which was super strenuous. But don't let that discourage you from showing up at another time, ha, ha. Sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts and a little beef (for a change) for our dinner. Your dinner sounds very yummy. :)
ReplyDeleteI see you there Miss Hester! Fantastic!
DeleteI will come...promise...so much to do!
I LOVE brussel sprouts!
I love brussel sprouts too - pardon the interruption you your'e and Miss Hester's conversation.
DeleteNo problem Eddie...we are all friends here♥️
DeleteMy crocheting got lost in my house somewhere. I'd started a nice blue afghan for my newest grandson, who could arrive any day now, but ended up giving him the lovely red one I made last year instead. I guess I need to start looking for my lost yarn and hooks so I can work on winter projects when the days get cold and nasty. Of course, there's no real hurry for that! Is there?
ReplyDelete:0)
Another grandchild? Holy moley Martha!
DeleteHow many is that now?
And...you are so young!
No....no hurry on the cold and nasty......
Spencer will bring the total to seven. Sabrina is due October 11.
DeleteYes, we are young, but then again so are the grandchildren.
At the present moment they are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 years old.
Josh will turn seven at the end of October.
:0)
Perfect!
DeleteThey will all be great friends, I am sure!
Ms. V's hat! That is as cute as all git out. It will keep her warm this winter.
ReplyDeleteIt is, isn't it!?
DeleteIf that doesn't keep her warm....nothing will!
I always forget that your Thanksgiving is in October! Seems so early to we Americans! haha. But I see some benefits to that...for one thing, you can celebrate it solely for what it is and not as a kick off to Christmas, which is what I dislike about ours. Seems like here, as soon as the dinner table is cleared, there is no more enjoying the decor or the sentiment because it's off to the races for Christmas! Hope you have a lovely time with your family....I know the food will be scrumptious! :) And I guess I should be glad that I don't have to prepare for Thanksgiving with my house looking like it does right now! haha.
ReplyDeleteLovely crocheting....I just love that hat on Vivian....adorable! That picture of her walking away from you is just hilarious! So cute!
Yes...I prefer it our way too....
DeleteYours is too close to Christmas....too much pressure!
Your kitchen will be beautiful when all is finished...just in time for YOUR Thanksgiving!
She is a real comedian sometimes! She was giggling cause we told her she was a Bear!
I want to have Canadian Thanksgiving.
DeleteWell you should!
DeleteIsn't your MIL Canadian?
I attempted a response this morning, but accidentally clicked that "log out" box and then, of course, I had to play "reset your password" because I couldn't remember what my Google account password was. I hope I can remember the new one...
DeleteYes, my mil is Canadian, as was my fil who became a naturalized citizen of the US. My husband has dual citizenship. We are not in possession of his Canadian birth certificate but do have an old letter stating one was filed. (He was born to Canadian parents on a US air force base in Tokyo.)
I just think the Canadian Thanksgiving is so much better times. I'm always sad that our Thanksgiving is overshadowed first by ghosts and goblins and then by the craziness of shopping. It would be so nice to simply enjoy being thankful for once.
That happened to me a few weeks ago....so darn annoying!
DeleteI email myself the passwords!
I agree....I like our early....sometimes even nice seasonal weather!
Do your in-laws do Canadian Thanksgiving?
We have a rule at our house that no Christmas will creep into our Thanksgiving! haha...it's just about the only holiday that isn't commercialized and we like it's laid back, quiet and meaningful weekend. No shopping on Friday for us...just football on the TV and leftovers...pie for breakfast, etc. We're a minority, that is for sure...but good grief...it can be too crazy! Christmas already has the whole month of December.
DeletePie for breakfast!
DeleteI like your style Betsy!👍
My mil lives in Halifax, so yes, she does.
DeleteMy fil died almost 5 years ago, so no, he doesn't.
He lived in California and I'm not sure what they did. His wife is from Thailand.
PS. I had pie for breakfast today. Apple pie. I figured that was better than eating it just before bed.
:0)
Oh...I thought a Fort Erie...guess they were divorced?
DeleteYou...my dear...are the pie master!
Long, long ago. James was only three.
DeleteGramanita has been in Nova Scotia for almost 30 years now.
James still has an aunt or two and some cousins in Fort Erie.
Lovely work on the scarves and stuff . My mum could knit and crochet wish I could something I just never could get into though . The weather is YUKKY that's for sure . Thanks for sharing lovely photos ! Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteBut you are an excellent photographer!
DeleteLove that purple - purple and green are my favourite colours. Purple the MOST favourite :-) I used to knit years ago to pass time in rehearsals but have not for a long time. Your scarves look lovely. I have a friend who may craft some knitted headpieces for me too. She does lovely work. To be truthful... I want one with ears! And I may just do that!
ReplyDeleteWere you an actress Suza?
DeleteGo for the ears!
Opera singer. So... in a way... yes!
DeleteWOW!
DeleteHow exciting!
Not really up on that genre....but....certainly exciting!
You are certainly busy with the knitting and crochet needles! I love the hat with the ears that you made Miss V. So cute and cozy. The scarves are lovely too. It'll soon be time to wear one. I like the basket you are making. Our daughter crocheted a basket using a sheet she got at VV that she ripped in 1 inch strips. It's kind of cool. Happy Wednesday to you.
ReplyDeleteOnly crochet Pam....would love to take up knitting again, though!
DeleteI have seen those fabric baskets....and rugs....cool!
I love crochet too! And miss V look beautiful like always:))
ReplyDeleteHi Gloria.....
DeleteYou crochet? Awesome!
You are on fire with the crotchet, Linda. The scarves look so warm and snuggly, perfect for the Canadian winter. And little Miss V is the cutest in her funny hat. Pedicure time over here - it will be sandals for the next six months!
ReplyDeleteYes...we must be prepared! Hahaha!
DeleteFunny hat,eh Patricia? :o)
Maple baked salmon sounds sublime... how do you make it?
ReplyDeleteHoney,grainy mustard,soya sauce,maple syrup,hot sauce....
DeleteBake slowly at 225* for 30 minutes....
Very moist!
Thank you!
Deleteyour crochet items are beautiful ... I too love to crochet and start getting that out and see what I can make.
ReplyDeleteMiss v is adorable in her hat :)
Hi Marisa....
DeleteCrochet is very relaxing....
Love to see what you make....
OHMYGOSH...Miss V in that hat is super cute! That is so adorable.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I agree....
DeleteMiss V looks so cute an cuddly in her crocheted hat! Absolutely adorable!! You are busy with all your crochet projects. Good for you.
ReplyDeletehi Devon!
DeleteToo bad we didn't do more crocheting together...
What were we busy doing???
Oh yes...you were moving CLEAR ACROSS CANADA!
Sorry...was i shouting? hahaha!
You do beautiful crochet work!
ReplyDeleteThanks Debra...I keep to simple things!
DeleteI love all your crochet things, especially Miss V's hat!! How cute is that!!! How is your worlds biggest crochet blanket from earlier in the year? Did you give it a reprieve or is it still in the maybe pile? xx
ReplyDeleteOmg! Your fingers have been busy. Love the scarves especially miss V's hat . Precious!
DeleteAmy.....the biggest afghan is still upstairs....I thought the other day, I should rip it out and start again....it is just too darn wide!
