The Autumn Leaves.....Drift Past My Window....

                                               The Falling Leaves
                                              Of Red and Gold

                                         But I Miss You Most Of All
                                              My darling

                                         When Autumn Leaves
                                              Start To Fall

                                                       I See Your Lips
                                           The Summer Kisses

                                            The Sunburned Hands
                                                I Used To Hold

                                                 But I Miss You Most Of All
                                              My Darling

                                           When Autumn Leaves
                                               Start To Fall

                                            Since You Went Away
                                          The Days Grow Long

                                      And Soon I'll Hear
                                          Old Winters Song

                                               But I Miss You Most Of All
                                              My Darling

                                        When Autumn Leaves
                                              Start To Fall

                                     ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope you all had a great day...
Sunny....breezy....chilly here...and it made me think of this song...
I remember both Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra recorded this...
It was first recorded in 1945...written by a French composer..Joseph Kosma..
Lyrics by Jacques Prevert...titled "Les Feuilles Mortes"...literally "The Dead Leaves"
It was translated into English in 1947 by Johnny Mercer...and renamed "The Autumn Leaves"
Such a beautiful...haunting melody...love it!!♥️♥️♥️
                                      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

No cooking for this gal tonight...

Out to Milestones for delicious burgers...YIPPEE!!

Enjoy your evening...

and...I bet you"ll be humming and whistling this beautiful tune!

                                    Cheers!  :o)

  1. My daughter, Selina, recorded it and it was played on local radio a lot, along with other songs she sang.
    She sings a little like Eva Cassidy and her friend Dan accompanies her beautifully on acoustic and electric guitar.

    Love the photos incorporating Autumn Leaves. . . . :)

    2. That sounds super good. We are having burgers and pub chips Friday night.

      I am still newish to eating cooking meats, but wow, what a difference in taste when hamburg is raw, med, and well. I like mine a little pink there but not so much that it's still moving on my plate.

  7. At first I thought "Linda has become a great poet!" LOL Well maybe not but you found a great poem song to go along with your beautiful photos. You are a great photographer, after all. Now, I may have to google this song as I don't know if I know it. I'm sure it will be familiar. I just need the music to remind me. :-)

  8. You're so right, I'm humming that lovely tune! I always loved Nat King Cole's version of it, but it makes me feel old and mellow. Nice that you were out at Milestone's for dinner. We had home made apple/sweet potato soup after returning home from seeing the new Ben Affleck movie, "Gone Girl" this afternoon. Whew, what a thriller!
