Sun Filled Friday At The Cottage.........
What a gorgeous day it was...fresh clean snow...brilliant sunshine...ahhhh fresh air...no wind...
Love making the first footprints in the snow...
Did you ever see such a clear blue sky?...
See you next time, cottage!
And we saw these guys enjoying the sunshine on our drive home...♥️
Hope you are all having a great day...
Todays weather is nothing but BLAH...cloudy...breezy...and warming up!
Looks like all the snow may be gone in a few days...
Calling for rain and temps near 8*c...geesh! Up and down!
My tree is all decorated...love it!
We were supposed to meet some friends for dinner...
They were bringing their 2 grandsons...and we were going to bring Miss V...
Unfortunately my daughter has strep throat, and Miss V a slight fever...:o(
My boyfriend has hardly any voice...and a very sore throat...:o(
My friends grandson has pink eye...soooooo...needless to say...
The evening out is postponed...:o(
Hoping my daughter and Miss V and my boyfriend are much better tomorrow...
Think we'll have some of that crockpot Ham and Pea Soup...
With a Turkey, tomato, bacon, mayo and lettuce sandwich...
Sounds pretty darn good to me...considering!
How are you spending your Saturday night...getting so close to Christmas!!!
Enjoy your evening...
Cheers! :o)

Wow Linda, I think I love your cottage even more in the winter. It is gorgeous there. You have so many beautiful trees surrounding you. Wouldn't they be something all lit up at Christmas. You sound like your well organized and ready for the 'big day'. I can't wait this year as Gwynn will be able to take it all in and really have fun. Riley and Brad are so excited and moving into their new home today. We are still not in the coach-house but it won't be long. Hope everyone feels better soon. We are just over the cold and flu here. At least it's not the day before Christmas...they should be all better by then. Enjoy your tree. Can't wait to see it. Mine is itty-bitty but cute, nonetheless. Hugs, Deb
ReplyDeleteHey Deb.....
DeleteI do believe you were here last year.....it is gorgeous in the snow isn't it?
Lots of moves in your family....good luck to all!
Will you be in by Christmas?
No, we aren't planning that anymore. We'll just enjoy Christmas here and then carry on after the New Year. And yes, I've been following along for over a year now. My how time flies.
DeleteExcellent idea......plenty of time to move in....after the festivities!
DeleteWhen you're having fun.....right?
I was waiting to see your winter pictures of the cottage trip! And you came through wonderfully!! That makes me wish we had snow like that around here... BUT, when we do, we can't get out to do anything. No snow plows here. But I'm expecting some snow this winter, and I'll definitely get out around the property when we do.... with my camera. I'll keep your pictures as my inspiration! Just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGee....thanks Don!
DeleteMy boyfriend wAs in Atlanta last January during that snowstorm! He couldn't get home for 2 days!
Be careful what you wish for.....
You've got those wonderful trees I often think of as magical/whimsical. Oh - what is that red face looking gremlin, with the snowball hat? Scary fellow! I love pristine snow too - the best for making snow angels.(smile)
ReplyDeleteToday was very pretty. We too had a lovely blue sky, no wind - perfect for leaf blowing! I'm so glad I put pork chops on a slow bake earlier. No energy after leaf duty. I'm thinking some broccoli would be nice. Then a nap - hmm? Maybe the nap first. Happy Saturday, Linda!
Hey Dixie.....
DeleteSome of those trees are over 100 years old...the cottage was built in the early 30's! She has aged well,eh?
That head was part of my sons collection....he is a horror nut, and makes all kinds of scary things!
We thought the old wheelbarrow was a great place for him!
Your dinner sounds delish.....where do you live Dixie?
Charlotte, North Carolina. Walking home from a neighbor's home last night, I could smell snow. Maybe we'll get some before end of December!
DeleteThat's interesting about the trees and cottage! Beautiful.
Such a lovely part of the country....we have visited a few times...
DeleteLove the header, Linda, and nice to see cottage with it's coating of snow and framed by those trees against a gorgeous sunny blue sky.
ReplyDeleteYou could tell by the non foot prints that the postman had not been.
What on Earth is that humanoid skull ~ gave me quite a shock . . . . . lol
Hope b/f and Miss V get better soon ~ my mum used to give me slightly salted tomatoes and pickled onions and that sometimes did the trick for a sore throat . . . .:)
Hi Eddie.....
DeleteSorry if I scared you! Hahaha!
I have never heard of that remedy...I made the boyfriend a tea with honey♥️
Got your feet up?
Feet up . . . . well no actually . . . . I have been quite busy writing Christmas Cards and organising some pressies.
DeleteWhat is that skull thing . . . . never seen it before . . . was it washed up onto the beach or something? . . . lol
Tea with honey is very good. Honey has very good healing properties. My mother used to give us a mixture of honey and cider apple vinegar which worked well . . .
I see you have taken the hieroglyphic test off your comment box . . . lol
Nope.....it was my sons.....it has been in the old wheelbarrow for a few years!
DeleteNot sure why the word verification is not working....it is supposed to be on! Blogger strikes again!
Think I'll light the fire......crochet by firelight.....lucky me!
I thought it was The Abominable Snowman . . . lol
DeleteI see even Blue is shaking in his shoes, and Betsy and Suza . . . but Martha like it . . . lol
He certainly has people talking!
DeleteWill show him next summer....surrounded by beautiful blooms♥️
Is little Miss V frightened of him?
DeleteHe seems quite a personality and your readers seem amused by him . . . . :)
I don't think she has noticed him....
DeleteHe is under some trees...in an old wheelbarrow.....with flowers!
I just turned on the fireplace and I intend to spend my evening in front of it. I am cold!
ReplyDeleteGood for you Birdie....I will light ours shortly!
DeleteBeautiful snow...just the kind I like that sticks to the trees like that! Can't believe you got all that and we didn't get any!
ReplyDeleteLove the shot of the horses...how fun is that!?
What was that thing in the middle of the post that scared me to death????
. . . . . and me Betsy . . . I think she murdered someone . . . . lol
DeleteYou people are wimps! Just an acrylic scary head....my son was a horror freak!
DeleteThe horses were great! I have been trying for months to get a shot as we drive by!
The driver sure looks cold!
Eddie......relax....I didn't murder anybody........YET! Hahaha!
Beautiful pictures Linda! The scenes of the fresh snow at the cottage and the view through the window are gorgeous. What is that 'creature' face?? I don't remember seeing that before. LOL I sure hope you all stay healthy with the bug going around. I wouldn't wish strep throat on anyone. So painful!! Take care. Hugs, Pam
ReplyDeleteJust as pretty as your snow pictures.....
DeleteThanks for the good wishes!
Oh, beautiful shots. They look so festive and inviting. And I LOVE that scary-looking head. Very unique. Hope your gang is feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteHi Martha!
DeleteSomehow I knew you would love that face! Waiting for Ivy to see it! Hahaha!
I hope they are too!
Welcome Sandra......thanks for following me.....hope to see you often!
ReplyDeleteSome lovely new photos of your place in winter, and a nice sunny day too!
ReplyDeleteHi Furry.....
DeleteYes, the sunshine was a welcome surprise! Been so dark lately...
How are you feeling?
Looks soo pretty there, lovely photos ! We are green and the sky is dull and it is damp ! I hope everyone feels better soon . Super sounds YUMMY ! I feel a bit humbugish this year could be the weather and that we haven't had snow to stay ! I will regret saying that I am sure lol but Christmas just isn't the same with out snow ! Thanks for sharing , have a good day !
ReplyDeleteNo snow down there?lake Erie is a crazy place!

Really gorgeous Linda!!!! Hope everyone feels better and you dot get it! I have sore throat and cold. Grrr.
ReplyDeleteXO Kris
Oh dear Kris.....hope you are not near all that rain damage.....YIKES !
DeleteBeautiful photos! Well... except for one! Scare the bejesus out of me. Love, love, love the horses. Perfect for this time of year. Makes me think of the olden days... even before I was old! YAY - no word verification.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Now, a Canadian wimp!
DeleteThe horses was a real highlight! Only snagged the one photo....
Nope... not a wimp. Just wasn't expecting horror in a snow bank amidst all those beautiful pictures. :-)
DeleteJust kidding.....thought I had shown him before....
DeleteHe looks better in the summer.....surrounded by flowers!
Your photos are lovely, especially the one of the snow on the evergreen. The boughs look like they have long white fingers, and not too especially the scary guy. Does he have a story? He's not the Grinch, is he?
ReplyDeletePerhaps one day I will get out to take some pretty snow photos. It could happen.
:0)
Yes! Martha has solved the riddle! He is The Grinch! Hahaha! You break me up!
DeleteDid you get your tree?
My tree is quite lovely and has more room than ever before.
DeleteMaybe I'll post it next.
:0)
Excellent!
DeleteFresh clean snow and a creepy orange head... What more does a person need? ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Blue....
DeleteAre you scared too?
Fantastic snow photos Linda - I love the way it has made snow hands on the fir trees. Snow is at its best when the sun shines and the skies are blue
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Rosemary!
DeleteIt was a stunning scene.....now we are melting!
It all looks so incredibly beautiful - incredibly cold too!! Stunning photos Linda. I hope that everyone is better again soon and in time for Christmas. xx

The Lake Erie Monster!
DeleteThe Lake Eire Monster . . . . lol . . . .you should market it . . . .bound to catch on like our loch Ness Monster . . .
DeleteThe Loch Erie Monster....I like it!
DeleteFun to check up on you this morning. Beautiful scenic photos and then there's the creepy one that's causing a big commotion. :) Wishing everyone a speedy recovery. My grand daughter has had pink eye and a cold, so there were no hugs when I visited Friday. We attended a lovely Xmas Indonesian event last night. (this boyfriend stays connected to lots of groups from his pre retirement years.) Beautiful performances of dance and song, the children singing were so cute. Take care and have a good week. Might see you? :)
ReplyDeleteHi Hester...
DeleteIt was a lovely day...for sure!
You had a busy weekend!
Tuesday...for sure!

You got it Tammy! Hahaha!
Deleteit's so unusual seeing snow near a sea!
ReplyDeleteHi Dez.....
DeleteEven more unusual is......this is Lake Erie.....one of North Americas 5 Great Lakes.....no Seas here.....at all!
It sure is beautiful though,eh?
I wanted to write lake... but didn't know which part of Canada you live in :) Was confused by the waves and the beachy part.
DeleteHi Dez....
DeleteI live in Souther Ontario...
Cottage is on north shore of Lake Erie....not far from Niagara Falls.....does that help?
Sure does, Toronto is near there too and it's the biggest Serbian city after Belgrade :))) (since it has about 200,000 or even 300,000 Serbian citizens) :)
DeleteI am in a suburb about 20 minutes from Toronto....Mississauga.
DeleteWow.....I had no idea!
How many in Mississauga?
These pictures are Hallmark card worthy!!! So beautiful. Its a winter wonderland.
ReplyDeleteHey Jax......thanks for stopping by! How goes things?
DeleteI'm slow getting around to blogs right now -- biz biz bizzy with Xmas stuff! But here I am! There's nothing like beautiful fresh snow and all that sunshine!
ReplyDeleteHey Debra.....Merry Christmas to you.....
