Finally got this post together...
I had taken these pictures a few days before Christmas...
When I finally completed everything that I had planned on...
I am not sure why I don't start Christmas crochet earlier than NOVEMBER!!
Perhaps I will get my act together, and plan a few projects while away in February...
I still have that HUGE afghan I started last year...
I think the only thing to do with that...is...
RIP!!! and start again!
I start this post with another Bear hood for Miss V...
I thought the grey was even cuter than the previous Cream one I had made...the pattern was a purchase from Etsy...and I can see years of use from it...very reasonable at just $5!!
I added a darker grey for the "ears" and around the face opening...
Next up are 2 ear warmers I made...
Blue one for daughter Lissa...
Beige one for Anna...
I think adding the buttons ,gives them a bit of class!
I think they both really liked them...easy peasy...
Erika wanted just a simple cowl...no wrapping around...just to sit inside the collar of a coat...
She was very pleased with this one...she says you can leave it on at work or in a restaurant, and doesn't get into your food!
A toasty toque and cowl for Miss V...
And a small purple cowl...
You can never have too many...
RIGHT?
Hahaha!
I had already shown you her Minnie Mouse hat...
I whipped up a pink cowl to match...
I do so enjoy crocheting...
When everything goes well...
The next completed project was a wee bit more complicated...
But I do believe...
It came out great...
Scroll down!
Here she is!!!
A cosy shawl for my daughter Lissa...
It was also an Etsy pattern...
The designer was most helpful, as the pattern was lacking a few instructions...for ME anyway!
Lissa is very petite...
Looked great on her...
Perhaps one for me...
Not that I am petite!!
I would make it longer..
That would be a great Florida project...
And all the great yarns available down there...
Turned out pretty good eh?
The yarn was a dream to work with...
Red Heart...
Super Saver...Worsted...
The pattern is worked in SC...in the front loops only...very relaxing to work on...
But...a lot of counting!!
Hope you are all having a great day...
I have been busy as a bee...
Besides putting this post together...
I...Picked up Miss V...
Took her grocery shopping...
Had lunch with her and Papa...gosh, she loves peanut butter!
Put together an Apple Pie Bread...
Put Miss V down for her nap...never a fuss...
had washed all her blankets and drapes in her room...nice and fresh♥️
Have skinny beef and barley soup on the stove...
Have some Cod bathing in buttermilk...
Put out some birdseed...hopefully Red is stil stuffed with Pumpkin, and will let the birds have
some nourishment!
Although chilly...{well...frigid}... and a brisk wind...the Sun is shining...YAY for that!
What are you up to today??
I actually almost feel normal again...that bug was a bugger to shake!
So...baked Panko crispied ...buttermilk tendered Cod...Spinach...Rice
Enjoy the rest of your day...
Cheers! :o)
linda
Oh, so how friggin cute is that bear hood? Awwwww!
ReplyDeleteReally friggin', eh Debra?
DeleteYou've been a busy one. Love everything and especially the shawl. You should have Lisa model it. You are a master at crocheting. We are almost through the coldest day this week as tomorrow we are promised a little warmer weather BUT still cold enough. I stayed in and cleaned all day. Now it's time to make that spaghetti sauce and garlic bread. I'll be by the fire tonight. You, too?
ReplyDeleteYes...I hope to get a pic of her wearing it!
DeleteLooks like we were both busy today....I think the sunshine helps....a lot!
Yup.....by the fire!
I worked my little touchey off today, too! Vacuumed, mopped, cleaned bathrooms and 6 loads of laundry! Homemade soup and bread for dinner with the big kids. We have the same weather as you...frigid temps and snow but sun!
ReplyDeleteYour soup sounds good! Can you fit into your flip flops yet? haha.
Nope....not yet :o(....sad to say....old and fat! Hahaha!
DeleteOh, just get a fancy pedicure and nobody will notice! ha!
DeleteNot bloody likely!
Deletesuch lovely creations, you have been very productive in the wool department!! Glad you're feeling better!
ReplyDeleteThanks Laurie....It sure feels good to feel better!
Deletethat shawl is truly lovely, even I'd wear it in a midnight blue colour :) over a dark blue or white bodyshirt :)
ReplyDeleteHi Dez.....
DeleteSounds pretty sexy........I think! Hahaha!
it could look like a superhero cape with the button moved onto a shoulder or something :)
DeleteAbsolutely Dez...What ever you say.....hahaha!
DeleteGotta luv 'ya!
Grrrrrrr - just wrote a long comment and it disappeared. I will try again.
ReplyDeleteLove your crochet items, but especially the shawl - so pretty and stylish. Now you deserve to create one for you!
Have not gone out at all in the last two days, but I do my "hall walks" regularly for exercise. Very long hallways in our condo building so when it's too cold or inclement or late at night... I walk the halls!
I was in my lobby last night and several dog owners were going back and forth to "water" their pets. They did not last long outside at all. Quick pee and back inside! The dogs that is... :-)
Hi Suzanne...BLogger likes to play with your head!
DeleteI find problems commenting on WP blogs...my type gets all wigggly!
Good idea to stay inside...had a wonderful day...so happy with all my things accomplished!
Enjoy the rest of your day...
Hi Linda, your crochet is gorgeous! I love all of them but especially the bear hood and the shawl. You're really talented and can make so many different types of things. It sounds like you've had a really busy day, I hope you have some time to unwind later.
ReplyDeleteHey Jennifer...great to see you here!
DeleteYou have always been my inspiration with crochet...
Will unwind in front of the fire!
Hey girlfriend! Did I comment on previous post? Read it last night and can't remember now if I commented? Geez. This getting old stinks! Anyway, boy did it look cold there!!!! And so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteNow, onto this post. Wowza! You have been on a hooky frenzy. Such loveliness you are producing with yarn and hook. Love the little hood for the little Miss V! Beautiful drapes cardi for Lissa. So feminine! And love all the other hats and earwarmers too! I so love to crochet too!!! So relaxing. Problem for me, is that I have to choose between sewing and hook, and I love to do both. Just not enough time in a day!
Hugs and kisses to you. SO glad you are up and at em' again and feeling better!!
XO kris
Hey yourself! hahaha!
DeleteYes, you did comment...it was kinda pretty!
The crochet is a great relaxing thing to do...I also sew, but have not gotten back into it as much...
I will sew Miss V a Raggedy Anne doll when she is a wee bit older...made them for both my girls...
I feel much better...thanks♥️
Wow you sure have been busy! Love that shawl.
ReplyDeleteFunny I'm also crocheting Head bands, using left over yarn. Cold here and lots of snow.
Just made a homemade turkey pot pie.
Glad you are on the mend!
Hi Linda.....
DeleteYou are an excellent crocheter, so I appreciate your compliment!
Love turkey pot pie....yum!
Stay warm....
You are very talented Linda ~ your crocheted products look so professional.
ReplyDeleteMaria's mum had similar talents . . . . .
I can see yo were a busy bee all day . . . . :)
Hi Eddie....
DeleteThanks!
Buzzzzz....buzzzzz.....buzzzzz. Hahaha!
Just relaxing....gonna light the fire.....ahhhhhhh

LOLOL.
xo♥
so glad you're feeling better.
♥️
DeleteOh....I forgot.....come on up for a piece of Apple Pie Bread.....ok?
DeleteSuch fantastic things Linda!!! I love the shawl that you made for your daughter, such a wonderful colour and pattern too. You would look great in one of these I am sure. I hope that you can work something out with the worlds biggest while you are away. I remember it from last year - that green yarn is lovely! - so I hope you can resolve it into something you are happy with. xx
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of making one for myself.....we'll see!
DeleteWorlds biggest is gonna be ripped out...rolled in neat little balls....and start again!
Thanks for remembering!
My gosh, you've been busy, busy, busy! I love all the crocheting you've been doing especially the wrap. It's gorgeous! I went to a funeral this afternoon of a friend who passed away from stomach cancer. She was 65 and married for 47 years. Too young!! Having a cozy evening now and will probably fall asleep in front of the TV as I have been awake since 5 AM!!
ReplyDelete65? I'll be 65 next month....scary....
DeleteNot sleeping Pam? Feel free to nod off....after all...you already read my post! Hahaha!
Your talents know no bounds, LSK! Lovely crocheting. I noticed that you described yourself as old and fat in one other reply. I'm qualified to say that you're neither. The short walk from the parking lot to the small theatre to meet my girlfriends for a play this afternoon was unbearably cold! Drive home in rush hour was not fun either, nice to be home and comfortably warm and cozy! :) Enjoy the evening...
ReplyDeleteMiss Hester....you are biased....for sure!
DeleteThe crochet turned out pretty good...if I may say so myself!
Perhaps I should have you over for some Apple Pie Bread.....Devon would be soooooo envious..
Lucky you to meet your girlfriends....traffic? Oy!
Stay warm my friend.....
Great work, so talented. What's skinny beef?
ReplyDeleteCheck out my October 29th post....recipe there...delish! No dairy!
DeleteJust checked it out. Looks killer good. Thanks bunches.
DeleteBoogie boogie💫
DeleteOMGosh, you do beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra......thanks! I do try very hard.....hahaha!
DeleteYou have been one happy hooker, love the shawl. Freezing cold today and colder tonight ... Think I'll pack and go to Florida with you :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda....that was the pattern I was asking you about.....
DeleteStart packing!
Lovely work. The only thing missing...a pic of miss v in her new bear hat. She's so darn cute!
ReplyDeleteHI Dot...How is it going?
DeleteI hear you...I gave it to her for Christmas...it went home with her...and I have not seen it again!
I will ask my daughter to bring it next time....
Happy New Year!
Thanks for visiting and following my blog, Linda! I'll be happy to follow back. I love making new friends.
ReplyDeleteYou are very talented with yarn and hooks! I always wanted to learn crochet or knitting, but am not good at either. Otherwise, from reading your profile it seems we have a lot of the same interests. I'm looking forward to reading more of your posts and getting to know you! Take care!
Hi Cheryl! welcome!
DeleteHope you visit often....
I see Pam Gordon is at yours as well...love her blog!!
Your crochet is so lovely...everything. I tried to learn long ago...never got the hang of it. I really love your colors, all the difference in the world in loving something we will wear again and again.
ReplyDeleteJane x
Hi Jane...
DeleteHope the New year has started well for you...
You should try again!! It is fun!
Can't wait to see Miss V in her bear hood - the shawl you made for your daughter is gorgeous and I bet that she was delighted.
ReplyDeleteHI Rosemary...thanks for stopping by!
DeleteWill try and get a photo of both in my handmade creations!
Such beautiful work!! LOVE every piece, but especially Miss V's bear hood and Minnie accessories. ;) I'm going to have to see if I can go back and find more on that since I'm new here. I will be looking forward to seeing Miss V sporting her bear hood! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteps are you on Ravelry???
Hi Tanna...
DeleteI go Ravelry sometimes...seem to have better luck on ETSY...I know some of the patterns are free on Ravelry, but they never seem to be the ones I like!
Enjoy your day!
Hmmmm.... I may have to check out Etsy. =)
DeleteAnd the patterns are not expensive....usually $5....
DeleteLovely crochet items!!! You are very talented, as you no doubt know! Glad you have finally shaken your bug. You've got to stay healthy for your trip!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Devon!
DeleteMUST STAY HEALTHY!
Words to live by!
I would love to crochet gifts for my entire family except my family is too big. I'd have to start last year to be ready for next Christmas and maybe that wouldn't be enough time. ha ha! Of course, if I could give them the gift of my time spent on the computer.. well, you know...
ReplyDelete:0)
Yes...it is far too big...but...there are only so many Grands...they could all use a hat!!
DeleteLove your crochet efforts, particularly the shawl. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Barb.....do you crochet?
