Setting The Stage......
Had some old friends in for dinner last Friday night...
Well...not OLD...but you know...old...
They were original neighbours on our small court 30 years ago...
They moved away about 16 years ago...
Kept in touch here and there...
Their oldest son did our front walkway, and helped repair the back deck this past summer...
Ran into them at a funeral...one of our other long time neighbours...before Christmas...
Decided it was time to get together...
Picked up 2 dozen small stemmed Roses...
One dozen of Hot Pink...
One dozen of a sort of Rusty Orange...
Both very pretty...and fragrant...
Although I went with a tan, cream and black tablecloth and placmeats...
I thought the cream and pink napkins were a great contrast...
And picked up the Pink from the roses...
Crystal and mirrored candle holders...
Milk Glass for the centrepiece...
Added some red tealight holders for the side tables...
I had enough Roses...
To do the table centrepiece, generously with lots of roses...
3 for my bunny glass holder that my dear late brother Tom gave me...♥️
I try to keep flowers in that all year if I can...
On my small side cabinet...
Also a small bouquet on my hall table, in the foyer...
One of my Elves is keeping them company...
They were scheduled
To arrive at 6:30...
I lit a few candles just to brighten up the room a bit...
We had a lovely time...
Laughed...
Remembered our kids when they were little...
Hockey on the street...
Fighting with the builder!!
Putting up fences...
Having sod laid...
Digging for our pools...
Ahhhhhh...
The good old days!
Sat in the family room with a fire going, for an hour or so...
A few nibblies...
Some nice Red Wine...
Then onto dinner.....
Hope you are all having a great day...
Sunny...but cold again here...no snow right now...not sure what is forecast...
Took a drive to the cottage yesterday...lots of snow out there!
Lake still frozen and icy...will share some pics soon...
On the menu tonight...
Grilled pork tenderloin medallions...
Mashed taters and heirloom carrots...
Sauteed mushrooms and some lovely pork gravy...
Doesn't that sound delicious!!!!
Enjoy the rest of your day...
Miss V tomorrow!!!
Cheers! :o)
