Once Upon A time.........

Once upon a time...

Well..actually the day after New Years!

A little girl came to spend the night with her Nana and Papa...

She played blocks with her Papa...

Built a large tower...

And....

Giggled with glee...

 This same little girl...

Well....

 She loves to play "GHOST"...

And scare her Nana and Papa...

EEEEEEEEEK!

Check out that ghost!

When the little girl awoke....

 After a long winters nap...

She found her dear Papa still feeling under the weather...

She covered him with an aghan......

And rubbed his back...

AWWWWW...

What a great little girl she is....

This same little girl...

Discovered this particular CD...

At her Nana and Papas...

And listened to it over...and over...and over...

And sang...

And danced....

When her Nana took a picture of her holding the CD cover...

She said to her Nana...

"Nana...

Take a picture of my Owl...

And my Owl feet...

And my hands, Nana...

And...

My...

Big...

Tummy...."

Oh that little girl loved to joke with her Nana...

It was then, that the Nana asked the little girl to come upstairs and get dressed...

"Ok Nana"...said the little girl...

"Can I just say hello to the Snowman??"

Asked the little girl...

"Absolutely!"...was the Nana's reply...

"Can I try on his hat Nana"..asked the little girl....

"Absolutely!" said the Nana...

"I don't think the Snowman will mind"...

          So....

                  The little girl yanked the hat off the Snowman...

                          Put it on her own head...

                               And looked like a jolly little Elf...

                   Moral of the story...

                                 Have oodles of grandchildren...

                                  They are awesome♥️

                                                       ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                   Hope you all had a great day...
              Still frigid and blowy here...some sun though...which was nice!
                I had taken these pics a few weeks ago...
                   And unfortunately...
                     Not quite sure why...
                       But they were all pretty blurry...
                                    So...
                    I engaged Pic Monkey to make the blur more "Soft"...
             Having the Skinny Beef and Barley soup for dinner...
                       With a chicken and avacado sandwich on Rosemary Bread...
              The chicken is the rotiserrie chicken I bought the other day...
                 Such a great buy at $7.99....
                        We had dinner that night...
                            We also had lunch from it yesterday...
              You should pick one up at Costco...
                     I do believe they are cheaper in the US...
                            But then, everything is!
               Enjoy the rest of your day...
                              Cheers!   :o)
    Loved the way you told the story . . . . . lovely.
    And my word you look cold on that header ~ it might as well have been in Siberia . . . lol
    Enjoy your evening . . . . . . I had a great time with Peter who, mercifully, was not sick . . . . I am doing a post tonight . . . . . :)
  3. Rotiserrie chickens are averaging $8.99 - $11.99 in North Carolina. Food prices have increase x8 since 2003. And lots of companies going under, so brand foods are no longer found. It's crazy.
    I love the owls and the snowman hat!!
    Wonder how there are going in Ottawa... Food here is the most expensive in the world, I think. Would love to have a Costco nearby. xx
  5. This was cute. I got right into it since I have had fun like that with our Riley who is now 4. (How did that happen so fast?) Soon Gwynn will be old enough to want to stay with us. Bradley doesn't like to be too far from home at night but that will change. Does V like polka-dots? Seems to be the rage. Just back from dinner out at our pub. Fish and chips and great coleslaw. Love to come home and no clean-up Yah! Tomorrow should be a little warmer but snow coming overnight. I don't know about you, Linda, but I'm done with this. Love the new header. Lookin' good! Hugs
  6. She is going to be a real heartbreaker when she is older isn't she! Don't tell her grampa that though, he won't want to be thinking about things like that yet! Especially when he has her fully employed as his personal back rubber and snuggler with! I have never been to a Costco - are they like Sam's Club? I used to go there in AR, but we don't have those here either! We have Costco, but we don't go there! Am I missing out!! xx
  11. I bought two chickens and we've had it on top of a salad, in a sandwich and two nights of soup. Yum. Enough still for a pot pie or two, I think...will probably just put it in the freezer for another time.
  14. Sweet pictures of Miss V. What a cutie! I sure wish I could spend time with our 3 grandsons in person. I love bbq chickens from the grocery store and often get 3 meals out of one. Last week I made soup. Nice header photo of you - Lady of the Lake. :) I just looked at the temperature. It's -27C!! Crazy. It will be warmer tomorrow and some snow but not much, then cold again after that.
  15. Wow, love your header photo. Looking svelte....hey, have you been secretly working out? :) Also, loved the way you narrated a story. I can really appreciate that from my years of being a teacher. Miss V. Is so lucky to have such a wonderful second home. This boyfriend bravely BBQ'd salmon outside in the backyard for dinner. It only took about 10 minutes and he was dressed very warmly, but I still felt sorry for him. We also had rice and roasted brussel sprouts with olive oil and maple syrup, yum. Enjoy the weekend and keep warm...
  18. Hi Linda ~ Don and I had to take a quick business trip up North, so I haven't been able to be on my computer very much. This morning at our friends home where we staying, I have a little spare time. I love your "Once upon a Time" story, and what a perfect little character to have to illustrate you book. She is a living doll. You caught her cute antics to well, I was pulled into the story and didn't want it to end.
    Chicken. I love Churrasco's in the St. Lawrence Market. They sell whole BBQ'd chickens ($11.50), amazingly huge chicken sandwiches, "heap-o-fries," roast potatoes, salads, delicious Portuguese custard tarts, etc., etc. I used to go at least once a week but have not been in a while. I am getting hungry thinking about it. Shall I pick up something for you? :-)
