Bits & Bobs...

First of all...our Blue Jays won their game last night!!!
They will play Kansas city next...

                                 ***GO JAYS GO***

Ok...
Thanks for listening!!!

A few more pictures from the Thanksgiving weekend...

I promise...

This will be the last of them! hahaha!

Finally got my Garlic planted Monique!! I did separate all the cloves, and pushed them deep with my fingers...I used an old tin planter, as finding space in the gardens is very difficult...fingers crossed I have good luck, and grow beautiful Garlic like you♥️

As you can see...there was plenty of sunshine on Thursday...

Everything still green andlush...

After that, it all went downhill!

Friday was rain day, and we went for a drive to Welland...and for a Chinese lunch...listened to the Blue Jays on the car radio...and then sat on the deck with the radio for a while...but it just was too darn cold and windy to stay outside...and they were losing at that point,so we retired inside...

We made dinner...and had a lovely fire...

There were plenty of Ducks that afternoon...

Got a shot from inside the cottage...

Next day was time to go home...and get all the last minute things ready for Sunday...and the kids...and the Turkey!!

Auntie Anna brought a craft to do with Miss V...

All of her Aunts and Uncles joined in to help...

Then it was time to eat...

Everything turned out delicious...

Pumpkin Pie and whipped cream for dessert...

I made a Gluten-free raspberry crisp...they tell me it was pretty good!!

When I set the table...and got out the wine/water glasses...I grabbed a small Sherry glass for Miss V!!!

She was thrilled!!

We were toasting and "Cheers!" all thru the meal...so funny!!♥️

She still insists of wearing a bib...

Gotta love her!!

Hope you are all having a great day...

Very strange day here...Sunshine...Rain...Clouds...actually quite warm at 18*c....but the rather gusty wind makes it feel a lot cooler...

We will be off to the cottage tomorrow...weather is not looking too promising...

But...I have clean flannel sheets packed and a Beef Stew in the crockpot!!

Trying out a new method...will let you know how it turns out!!

I have a fresh loaf of Rosemary Bread to have along with the stew...yum!!

                                         *************

Tonight we are having...

Grilled pork tenderloin medallions...
Mashed Potatoes...
Grilled veggies,with onions and mushrooms...

I want to try and bring a few of my geraniums home from the cottage...

And that beautiful Peachy Begonia...wonder if she made it thru this cooler weather?

Enjoy your evening ...and have a great weekend!!

                                  Cheers!  :o)

    1. My neighbour at the cottage gave them to me...not sure of you can just use a head of garlic....
Perhaps ask at a garden centre!
Let me know how you make out!

    2. I will check out a garden centre. I think I will grow them on my deck. Maybe less bugs that way? Not sure. I do know that I LOVE garlic and there is no way I could ever grow enough to satisfy me. Just roasted garlic alone could be eaten daily. And that crap from China is just not as good.

Was just thinking of what I want to bring inside....a begonia, fern and miniature rose bush made the cut, I think.
Love the three sparrows...each has a mouthful! haha.
Love V and her fancy glass!

  5. There are a lot of pics that I enjoyed seeing but I'll comment on a few. Love the one of the three birds. Beautiful. The fire looks so cozy. I'm wondering if that is wallpaper with the bird houses on it? It's so cute. Your dinner looks so good that I am craving Thanksgiving dinner right now. Maybe I'll have to cook a small turkey dinner next week. I see turnip on the plate which I feel is a necessity with this dinner. :) And Miss V- so adorable and feeling very grown up at that moment I bet. Sending a hug, Deb

I didn't get any pictures of the flood because they had the barriers nearly a half mile away. I'm thinking about sneaking out there next week. Shhhh!

  17. Linda ~ Geranium advice? I have several "old" geranium plants (left from long deceased family gardeners) that we've transplanted and transplanted and transplanted into pots as they've grown larger. The pots are now too big to move and/or very unwieldy. Is it possible to take cuttings or just save the root(ball) of these geraniums and store someway so they can be restarted in the Spring? I remember a great aunt who used to store some plants/cuttings wrapped in newspaper in the dark of her basement over winter and then replant them in the spring. Any thoughts/advice/experience on this! Thank you and belated Happy Thanksgiving to you!! Loved Ms. V in her bib and toasting everyone! Linda

  21. I love the view of the porch from the inside looking out and, of course, the fire in the fireplace, which looks so cozy. The plate of turkey dinner looks very yummy as I ponder what to have for supper. Hubs is out for the evening so I'm on my own. The weather today has been rain, clouds, wind, sun....repeat. It's cooling down quickly. Everything outside is orange, red and gold - so beautiful. I hope you have a great time at the cottage. Keep cozy. xo Pam
