Preparations......
When I arrived home from the cottage on Saturday...
There was a large flower box in the garage...
35 Hydrangea stems...
From the flower lady...
AKA...
My daughter, Erika!
I got busy cutting and finding vases...
I had already set the dining table, before I left for the cottage...
I had chosen orange Mums for the table, and made an arrangement in my vintage green vessel...
I really like the way the black tablecloth set everything off...
Assorted S&P shakers finished the look...
I always use my Mom's china...for every special occasion...
Love it♥️
Do you like fussing with your table arrangement???
Ever take it apart...and start all over again???
I do! hahaha!!
Hope you are all having a great day...
Rather on the cool side here today...with a nasty wind...
Boyfriend got the pool closed...another season in the books...
I am making maple Salmon...Fried rice...Asparagus for dinner...
With a small Greek Salad to open...
BLUE JAYS are on...GO JAYS GO!!!
Hope they win!
Cheers! :o)

Lovely arrangement and so nice to have it done before you went and ready for your return.
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful.
Maria used to love table arrangements . . . :)
Hi Eddie....
DeleteThanks! I do love to decorate for family and friends...
I'm sure she set a fine table!
Your table looked great, Linda. lots of fun. Love the little shakers (I bet Miss V did, too) and your choice of flowers for the centerpiece was gorgeous. That flower colour is my all-time favorite. I sure do miss having family dinners since we moved to the mouse-house but it is something to look forward to once the house is built. I LOVE setting the table. :)) GO JAYS GO!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes....she had a ball! Loves her aunts and uncles♥️
DeleteYou will have many many family get togethers in your beautiful new house...soon enough!
Jays are winning!
You set a mighty pretty table, Linda! I don't fuss too much over the table, but I do love a pretty arrangement for the middle. Your dinner sounds delish! One day I'm going to make a month's menu using yours and Betsy's dinners. HaHa!
ReplyDeleteI would love you to do that! And take pictures! Awesome!
DeleteI had a friend who worked for a florist..once in a blue moon..a gift of flowers arrived..nothing like it..what a thoughtful daughter you have..

I must admit ..I loved setting tables more before..:)
Now w/ 6 Littles ranging from 6 to 16..and 6 adults..mismatched chairs..tight squeezes..no room:)
it's a game of luck..
I used to enjoy having a couple over for dinner..setting a table for 4 or 6..much easier;)
But never as much fun♥ I'll settle for less than Martha..:)
Go Blue Jays:)And you have cute collections!
PS oh so chilly this aft putting more gardens to bed..brought the duvet out.Changed the linens..made a different lunch.. scones..picked dahlias..
Where do I begin to reply?
DeleteYou have 6 grandchildren? I must have missed that somewhere...how special!
I love flowers in the house...anytime....anywhere....
There are 8 of us, so we fit pretty nicely around the table...with mismatched chairs too! Hahaha!
I love having dinner guests...it gets my juices going!
Plan to have a few guests in December...after I decorate and get a tree...
Chilly here too...I love Dahlias!
Sounds like you had a great day....

DeleteThat is a beautiful setting. I agree that the black table cloth works well. And I love pumpkins! The hydrangeas are lovely. My sister brings in dried bouquets of them for fall and winter decor. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteHi Jenn...
DeleteHydrangeas are a welcome addition...dried or fresh!
Lucky you to get such beautiful flowers! The hydrangeas and orange mums are both gorgeous. I love your table with the black cloth and the colours popping out, and the vintage green dish. So beautiful, Linda! Yes, I play with table settings and have fun with them too. :) xo Pam

DeleteSuch a creative lady, love the black and orange. And your dinner sounds yummy. My BF had to BBQ our salmon in the dark because of course, we waited until the end of the game. Glad that we have an outside light in the back! And what a game it was, so much excitement. So proud of our Jays...YAY....on to the next finals...
