Hello There Handsome........

Yesterday when we were out doing some yardwork...this wee guy was flitting about the back yard. Taking sunflower seeds from the feeders, and going to the maple tree...and hammering the life out of them! Not sure if he was actually leaving the seed there....or breaking the shell, and eating the seed.
Somebody else was watching as well...

Always lurking...getting closer...

That is why Mr Downy headed up into the branches...
To get away from the infamous Red...who was already to jump up...
And...I think...grab whatever the woodpecker had been working on! 
Oh well......
Another day with Red...
Never a dull moment!!

Lovely and warm here....but cloudy...
Lots of rivers overflowing their banks here in Ontario...
Hope you are all safe from that...

On the menu tonight...
           Crispy baked pork chops...baked potatoes...brocolli
              Sliced tomatoes with Goats cheese and avacado...

    I had his twin at my tree this morning. Gorgeous photos, Linda. And there's Red..."Welcome back, little fella". We have the same weather, not too bad. Love the header as those are my favorite-coloured tulips. Hugs, Deb

    Little Red is always getting into mischief around here. Yesterday he was pouncing on a black squirrel and then running away. He did it several times, probably because Mr Black was enjoying a patch of black oil seed under one of the bird feeders and Little Red wanted his share :)

    Your new header is just stunning!! Love it! And Mr. Woodpecker...brings back memories of my first recitation in 1st grade. Said with fear and trembling in front of the whole class. "The woodpecker pecked out a little round hole and made him a home in the telephone pole."
    Hadn't thought of that in years..you Mr. redhead triggered a memory.

    And your RED is just too adorable. What great shots you got of your little outdoor friends.

    Linda...I do not have good luck with pork chops....can you give me some tips.

      Thanks Wanda♥️glad it was a good memory!
      I find the thicker chops stay more moist...I use Panko crumbs, seasoned to your liking...on a foil covered pan...sprinkle of Olive Oil....about 20 minutes on 350...turn once.....I also make a packaged gravy mix, just for extra moisture....give it a try!

    Seriously impressed with those photos, Linda.
    What a colourful Woodpecker.
    I find it incredible that they don't get a serious head injury with all that tree bashing. or a bad headache!
    Love the squirel as well. We in the UK used to have Red Squirrels but they had a hard time when the Grey Squirrels courtesy of the States gradually became dominant. We still have them but they are much rarer.

    We had our own 'Red' furiously chasing a huge black squirrel across the backyard this afternoon. The black squirrel dwarfed 'Red' but seemed scared to death and ran like the dickens to allude him! Funny!

    We have black, we have gray but we don't have Red. I want Red!!! I also wouldn't mind a woodpecker or two, lol...I must remember to save sunflower seeds this year so I can have some when Spring arrives next year, lol...I know, I'm getting ahead of myself, lol...still waiting for Spring to get in full swing here but Sunday was a lovely day, as was today until it rained, lol...Thanks for sharing, Linda...I realy dropped by to tell you how much I LOVE that header!!!
