We always put birdhouses everywhere,
as you never know who will set
up shop inside..
We get a lot of chickadees and wrens building in these decorative houses....so sweet...
Have you ever heard the tiny wrens sing...it is out of this world...they have a HUGE voice, and yet are so teeny weeny tiny...
My daughter Erika gave me this "refrigerator" birdhouse a few years ago...seems the barn swallows LOVE it...they nested here last year, and are back again...see him/her sitting on the pipe? |
I purchased these 2 FANCY houses this winter....supposed to resemble gourds.....hoping they would like them....will wait and see if anybody moves in.... |
The GOLDFINCHES are plentiful...and I love their song as well...the way they flit down from the branches....wonderful... :o) |
This RED HEADED WOODPECKER was playing shy...turned away, just as I tried to capture his picture... |
The never-ending supply of MOURNING DOVES, never ceases to amaze me...these 2 were down by the water...taking in the view... |
As the clouds began to thicken late on Friday, we could rest easy....knowing all was well with the MARTIN HOUSE.... :o) |
At least we didn't get any snow that "stuck"..
Just kinda flew around....
But pretty darn cold and windy...
Hope those little "Admiral Butterflies" make it... [thanks for the info crafty gardener]....
I will close with a White Lily from last
summer.....won't be long now....fingers and toes crossed....
Hope you all have a great day....
Cheers!
:o)
Hi Linda:
ReplyDeleteI love birdhouses and birds. Can we ever have enough. Just bought a very special Wren House a few days ago. There is a lot of bird related comforts in our backyard. . .A post in planned on that soon!

Feathered friends~ some of my favorites! Sweet, sweet post... thank you :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad too about not getting snow- but it hailed for a minute. I love the bird houses! We have a mourning dove nest near our house so they are cooing all day over here. BTW the large paper doll I made- is the one that you dress up with paper dresses.

You have a very lovely place. I do like that refrigerator birdhouse! We have a marlin birdhouse but, I don't believe we have marlins. Other birds have been using it, though. Aren't birds so much fun?! Thank you for visiting me and leaving a comment!! I hope to "see" you, again.
ReplyDeleteVery nice...and yes, that is a lot of work, but rewarding when they live and bring up their babies in your cute martin house! :)
