Did I Mention The Snow?...And The Cold????

Took these this morning....as the sun was breaking thru.....this wee guy above....was not visible today....I took this pic last week.....I know the snow looks pretty.....but very difficult to get around....Lots of rain and freezing rain in other areas of Ontario.....my kids took HOURS to get to work today.....hardly seems worth the effort! But.....hopefully we are in for a slight warm-up this weekend...perhaps some of this will melt again....then the worry of flooding comes into play...
Ahhhhhh....ain't Mother Nature awesome???

Ahhhhhhhhhh........that's more like it!

Hope you all stayed warm today....

That was a pretty hard task...geeesh...darn Polar Vortex of cold air!

                                            *******

On the menu this Monday night...

   Oven baked pork chops....baked yams....broccoli....

                     Sauteed onions,mushrooms and peppers...

                             Enjoy your evening....

                                         Cheers!  :o)

  1. I know that it is horrid dealing with that weather, but it sure does make for some beautiful pictures Linda. I hope that you and yours are staying safe and warm. The pine trees are especially pretty in the snow somehow aren't they. xx

  3. Your photos are exceptionally beautiful tonight. Yes, our winters are lovely to look at but I am already so sick of this cold weather. I am dreaming of Spring. The plant is a shamrock and I have had it for years. It is a hardy plant for sure and I love how it gives me little white flowers many times throughout the year. It's one of my favorite. I think I need to get myself some cut flowers before I go nuts. Maybe daisies...

Love the white flowers too...especially around St Patty's Day!
Daisies sound perfect! Perhaps I shall also indulge!

  5. Gorgeous! I complain about winter, but this is a good reminder that I don't even know what I am talking about! But I would probably still be cold in summer in your neighborhood. I hope it doesn't last too long for you! (Miss V. is such a big girl now! Adorable!) Stay well!

  6. Wow, these pictures sure are beautiful, Linda! I love them all. Yes, the Polar Vortex sounds like something out of a sic-fi movie doesn't it? Actually it got up to +8 here today and it poured rain all evening. It's stopped now and turning colder as the 'vortex' moves in to include us. Yay.

  9. Hi Linda,
These are beautiful photos! I complain a lot about winter, but it is very beautiful. I don't know how I will like living where there is no snow. My family all says I will love it but there's something so refreshing about newly fallen snow. The temps however...I can't believe they can get this low.

I love your header photo...and have I ever told you that I really love the name of your blog?

  10. Oh, it is SO cold! I don't ever remember temps and wind chills like this...EVER. Glad we don't have anywhere to go, the frig is full, and the power is on. The boys have had snow days since last Thursday! ha. We're just feeling fine with the extended vacation. The Mr, however, says the roads are horrible to drive on!

  14. I think it is even colder today (Tuesday) but the sun is out trying to trick us into thinking it is nice outside :)
We did go out, had to drop of passport forms and pick up a few groceries. Home now just waiting for the kettle to boil for a nice cup of tea. Love your sunny photos.
Stay warm and cozy. Think Spring!

  16. The photos are stunning Linda but I'm sure all that snow (and the thaw) must be such a pain in the backside when you have to live with it. We've just got rain, rain and more rain here!
