Another week of...
Bitter temps....
Blowing winds....
Drifting snow...
Whiteouts....
And...
The topper...
Of all toppers....
My boyfriend...
Is...
Stuck....
In....
Atlanta....
What the hell???
Yes, my friends...
This is not a joke...
He left on Monday am...
With every good intention...of returning....tonight...at 7:30pm....get a good nights sleep....leave for Windsor early afternoon....and begin....our much anticipated trek to the sunny south....
But no....it ain't gonna happen....
Hopefully he will get a flight tomorrow....and we will decide what to do then....
Perhaps we should wait 'til Friday...let him get some rest....
Does it really matter if we miss a few days??????
Let me have a cup of tea...and mull this over.....ok....mulling going on here....
Still mulling..........weighing the options.....oh yeah....I didn't tell you about my
other dilemma.....stay with me....
My daughter has been very ill this week...
Some sort of stomach thingy going on...
I escorted Miss V to daycare this am...
I had a few errands to run...
And...they are only allowed so many absentee days...
So....
As the boyfriend won't be home...
I think I'll scoop Miss V...
And her and her old Grandma, can enjoy a sleepover together...
Let her Mom get some more rest...
Sound like a good plan???
Oh why has this Winter been so darn cold...snowy.... and full of hideous bugs....
Oh when will we be able to stay at this delightful place again???
WHEN?????
As you can tell...
I am up on the big guy for this post...
I just needed to slip back into my old format again...
So warm and fuzzy here....
I knew you would understand...♥️
I hope you all enjoyed the garden tour....
WOW....
Is that really MY cottage garden???
I must say...
AWESOME!!!!!
And....don't anybody argue with me...
I am not a very happy camper...
today....
But...
things could be worse....much worse...
Thanks for listening, and tagging along with me....
It felt good to have you with me....
'Cause...I know...that...you..
Understand......
Enjoy the rest of your day....
I did get my mani and pedi today....my boyfriend gave me a gift certificate in my stocking♥️
Had it booked for WEEKS!!!
Cheers! :o)
linda
I miss garden veg, the most.
ReplyDeleteMe too....oh yeah....and my boyfriend♥️
DeleteYou truly are "This Grandma is Fabulous!"
ReplyDeleteThe cold does grate on us after a while, doesn't it.
I didn't mind so much yesterday, but my feet are just too cold today and I want to go out for a real walk.
Ah, March will be over before we know it and we will be soaking in every ounce of sunshine we can expose our bodies too. (Okay, so maybe not every ounce...)
Have fun with Miss V!
You always make me smile Martha....thanks!
DeleteAhhhh! Life always seems to throw things at us but it looks like you have a good plan to stay on the 'sunny side'. You are a good grandma to help out with V. I'm sure your daughter would so appreciate another good night of r&r. Yes, your gardens are awesome but I can imagine it takes a lot of work to get them so beautiful. I know you love it though from all your 'flowery posts'; Hope the boyfriend makes it home safely and your daughter is well soon. Then it's 'up hill from there, lady'. I'm smiling here because the sun is shining and it is -12C. I'm so easily pleased now after last week's weather. Have fun with V. We are off to the pub tonight for fish and chips. :) Hugs, Deb
ReplyDeleteOh Deb.....wish I could join you still the Pub...for fish and chips!!
DeleteHope he gets a flight tomorrow...a lot of people ahead of him......
I posted some garden pics today also, Linda. I just needed that touch of Spring:) Thank you so much for sharing yours. I needed that!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe your boyfriend is stuck in Georgia. It sounds like chaos down there. Perhaps it is the perfect time to have a sleep over with Miss V. I'm sure her mom will appreciate it and Miss. V. will love it!
Thanks for sharing, Linda...soon this will all be a cold memory:)
I hope so ~~Louise~~. I hope so♥️
DeleteYour poppies were beeeeutiful!
Awe gee, thank you...Sending sunshine your way, Linda:) Hopefully everyone is safe and cozy:)
DeleteNooooo!! Hang in there, you'll get there soon. I hope.. xx
ReplyDeleteCould you sound a wee bit more encouraging? Hahaha!
DeleteI'll get there......if it kills me.....I'll get there!
Oh how terrible for your boyfriend....we've had the TV on all day watching it from a distance. With that said, the rest of your post is so beautiful ~ picture, after picture. Hopefully this will all turn out good. Sending good thoughts and prayers and hugs.
ReplyDeleteYes...and he is behind a whole day of people who couldn't get out yesterday!
DeleteThanks for the prayers, thoughts and hugs ♥️
My brother is heading off to Florida from Toronto soon - don't they call you Snow Birds in the States?
ReplyDeleteIt is a very long road journey to get there. I remember them taking their granddaughter with them one year, and after they had been on the road for three days and nights, she announced from the back of the car "this holiday seems to be turning into a journey".
Yup...snowbirds!
DeleteNot a bad trip.....we stay 3 nights....actually quite enjoy the drive!
Not sure about taking a kid along....no...can't see that happening! LOL!
So sorry that your boyfriend is stuck, that is just horrid and how crazy because I bet that the problem is at his end, not yours, and you probably have worse weather! At least you can do some sterling grandma/mom care duties in the meantime as I am sure that you will by now have scooped them both up and have them firmly installed by the fire keeping warm and loved on. Take care dear friend and I hope that the plans are back up and running very soon. Lovely to see pictures from the cottage in the meantime to remind us of the sunshine and good times over the summer, boy will I be glad to see it again. xx
ReplyDeleteJust Miss V here....daughter at her place...very sick. :o(
DeleteI also enjoy seeing my old photos again.....fun picking special ones to share♥️
Glad you enjoyed the tour......let's do it again.....soon!
I am so sorry that your boyfriend got stranded in Atlanta! That's a shame but you know I think sometimes these things work out for a purpose, this one being you taking care of Miss V while your daughter gets better. I sure enjoyed your summer photos. So much beauty and colour! Even the bugs. I can't wait to see the picture of your pedi! LOL
ReplyDeletePerhaps you are right Pam.....just kinda hard to take!
DeleteSo glad you enjoyed the tour......kinds like our tea parties....fun to pretend!
Perhaps I can get a photo of my feet.....maybe....
Oh no, who's a bit cranky now?? I had my turn, now it's yours. This weather is very depressing. We had to cancel out plans into town this morning because of more snow squalls and terrible roads. I saw on the news about Atlanta and how 6 cm of snow shut down everything. Hope the boyfriend gets out by tomorrow. But like Pamela says, this could be for a reason and little Miss V is that reason. Hope her mommy is feeling much better soon. The travel plans will be on track soon and you be heading south to hopefully warmer temperatures, walks on the beach, sitting in the sun and relaxing.
ReplyDeleteGuilty as charged,Linda.....
DeleteThings will sort themselves out...
Thanks for the well wishes for my daughter...
Looking forward to the walks on the beach...no matter what the temp!
Hard to imagine all that chaos and your own (not little) dilemmas there when you flood us with beautiful pictures (and the sun is shining bright and hot where I am!) Hope your daughter is well very soon, your man back with you and your spring comes early! Enjoy your little sleepover buddy!
ReplyDeleteAlways like to re-visit summers at the cottage....
DeleteYou will discover that.....the more you visit...
Hope my sleepover buddy sleeps in!♥️
Oh, God. I hope he gets home soon. I can tell you that I lived in Atlanta as a child, and my father would travel for work and get caught in storms sometimes. There was a storm that brought about an inch of snow to the city and it took him, no joke, an entire day to drive the 20-ish miles from the airport back to our house. I hope your daughter is well soon and that everyone else stays well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jennifer.....he is in a wait list....so...fingers crossed!
DeleteWell, I hope he gets home safely! Atlanta (or any southern city!) just isn't equipped to handle even a dusting of show! We're all used to it up this far but they just don't know how to drive in it and they don't have the plows and salt to help. So many accidents down there, too! I know he's flying...but still!
ReplyDeleteGlad you can take Vivian for another overnight to help her mama!
You are right about that,Betsy...
DeleteHe has to wait and see tomorrow.....
I am glad I could help as well....♥️
