Something Fresh and Floral...

Well...

Here I am...

Upstairs....

Posting...

In my...

Favorite...

Format...

Please join me on this fine Monday...

To take a trip...

Thru the archives...

With my...

Bestest ever...

Houseplant...

The...

Beautious...

African...

Violet....

In all her glory...♥️♥️♥️

All hail the Queen!     (of houseplants, that is!)

My friend...Deb...

Over at....

"just Cats"...

In my sidebar....

Had asked me for some friendly advise on African Violets....

She perused a few of my older posts....

And I emailed her a few pointers...

For surefire success...

But...

With the weather such as it is...

I thought....

What the heck...

GO crazy....

Post a few awesome pics of...

Dear Sweet Violet...♥️♥️♥️...

So.... enjoy....hope this brightens your day...and raises your spirits....Spring is near!!

My advice for growing flowerful African Violets is...

1. Plenty of sunshine...
2. Water from underneath...discard any water it doesn't take up...
3. Liquid fertilizer every few months...
4. Deadhead...
Happy African Violets will reward you with plentiful blooms...:o)

Now....

Doesn't that feel better?

And...I...feel...better...

     TOO!!!!

Feels good to be back to my old routine of posting....

I guess Florida will have to be content with posting from the IPad...

Perhaps my boyfriends laptop will come into play....if the need be..:o)

Hope you all had a great weekend...we got a bit more snow...and very gusty winds....

A wee bit quieter today...at least the sun is shining!

Miss V is resting....getting more energy to wear out her old Nana and Papa!

She got a haircut!!! Will try and get a shot....as she runs past!!! hahaha!

Gonna go and fold some laundry, and fill the bird feeders....RED was giving me the eye!

So Deb......I hope you enjoyed the pics.....I will be looking forward to seeing your newest Violet is a few months!

                                               *****************

On the menu tonight....

      Slow roasted Salmon filets...
(marinated in soy sauce, honey and grainy mustard)

                     rice,bok choy and beets....(can't wait)

Enjoy the rest of your day...

                                     Cheers!  :o)

  1. Pictures took my breath away ... GORGEOUS!! Thanks for the tips ... I am not a successful houseplant person but you make African violets seem "doable" so I might just have to give them a try this winter ... will most certainly brighten the dining area of our kitchen where the best light is. Rest up ... Ms. V will be arising soon and raring to go! Braciole with home canned stewed tomatoes over pasta on our table tonight with a side salad and glass of nice red wine. It will help ward off this Northern Michigan Polar Vortex #2 !!! Linda

  2. Oh, I'm your first comment. Thank you so much Linda for taking time out of your busy day to post this information. Good golly miss Molly...your photos are gorgeous. I hope mine look this good soon. You are probably getting similar weather to us. It is so cold today and we are in for a deep-freeze all week. Flowers in the house are a must at these times. It's fun reading your posts and I can tell you really like this format. Have fun with V today. I get to see our little Gwyn this week. Looking forward to it now that my back is improving. Have a great day. Hugs, Deb

  3. My grandmother was inordinately proud of her ability to grow the notoriously difficult African violet as well. She swore by southern exposure.

  4. Wonderful photos . I do the same thing with my African Violets but they seem to bloom one after the the other I read on a website of the African Violet Society these people take these plants very seriously that this has something to with the age difference between the plants the younger the plant the more blooms each year and so on . Going to get nasty cold again today tonight and tomorrow . Thanks for sharing . Have a good day !

I always get a good show of blooms the first time round, but then it just seems to go downhill from there.

  15. Okay, now that you've conquered the iPad and Bloggy etc., can you please increase the size of your font! Lordy Lou woman, I am squinting. It was one thing to make you tee-hee's so itty bitty, but you must get Ryan to tell you how to make your font larger. I am squinting even with my glasses on! Is it just me????
    Help!
