Spent it with Miss V...so I am a happy camper ♥️
A few flurries...gusty winds...cold!!
Looks like we will close the cottage tomorrow...
Supposed to be below zero in the evenings...so better safe than sorry...
Don't want the pipes to freeze...or the toilet to crack...been there, done that!
We will still go for drives every week...to check the old girl out...
Thank goodness we got the sleepover in on Remembrance Day ♥️
Got a big pot of that delicious beef, barley and veggie soup bubbling away...
I think that will make a perfect dinner on this frosty evening...
Hope you enjoy my bits & bobs...
I take so many pictures...hard to choose...but then...you all know...
All about that.......right?
Enjoy the rest of your day...
Cheers! :o)
linda
You have such a great eye for taking picture! I always enjoy visiting your blog, Linda. Your beef soup sounds very warming. Enjoy your evening.
ReplyDeleteWhy thanks Pam....
DeleteYou take wonderful photos too♥️
This is the soup I featured just a week or so ago....so delicious! And easy!
It hardly seems five minutes ago you were taking those shutters down. :(
ReplyDeleteI know, Jessica!
DeleteCounting the days to take them down again!
But...they are going on the fire....new ones to be built!
Glad you got in the sleepover at the cottage (somehow I missed that post). Lovely collection of photos. It was chilly today, went for a drive to Kingston to pick up a yarn bowl I'm getting as a gift for daughter, went shopping at the Catarequi Mall ... just the same but different layout as our mall .. had lunch at Denny's ... then there were snow flurries when we got home ... yuck, yuck, yuck Off to eat Corrie ... Rob got arrested, now we will have to put up with Tracy ... yuck, yuck, yuck
ReplyDeleteWhat is a yarn bowl, Linda?
DeleteTracy is a pain.....
Ladybug on the beach, yup.
ReplyDelete:0)
Just having a picnic.....yup!
DeleteReally lovely pics Linda!
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you Gloria...
DeleteIt is easy...I am surrounded by beauty...
I see now what the shutters are like ~ on the outside and keeps out the weather from your porch. They are very large.
ReplyDeleteLove the shot of the water breaking over the rocks . . . . :)
Hi Eddie....
DeleteYes....and darn heavy! Made out of particle board.....swelled up, as such a damp summer....
New ones planned for next Fall......thanks Lloyd!
Yes....those are always fun to capture....
Nice selection of pictures!
ReplyDeleteThanks Furry....
DeleteAny snow up there?
Great shots, Linda! I don't know what's up with the Lady Bugs there are still so many flying about around here too. Although, the geese I do believe are heading south, lol...Just peered out the window to see giant snow flakes coming down "as we speak." Ah, yes, counting the days and filling up on beef and barley soup sounds like the norm... Thanks for sharing, Linda...
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by ~~Louise~~.....
DeleteSoup was G O O D !
The perfect night for soup! Stay cozy!
ReplyDeleteYou too Betsy!
DeleteClosing of cottages ranks with boats out of the water for sadness.
ReplyDeleteJane x
I'm glad that you got the sleepover in too! It will be sad that you won't have any more nights there this year, but the winterisation process has to start at some point doesn't it! xx
ReplyDeleteYes it does Amy.....it sure does!
DeleteJust hate when it happens!
I like that native mullion - very cool. Wonderful photos of everything preparing for winter. I thought with the addition of the furnace you would be staying there occasionally in the winter, but I guess not? Chilly today - such a contrast from a couple days ago. Ah well. It is mid-November.
ReplyDeletePerhaps....occasionally.....but we use Lake water, so we don't want to risk frozen water pipes!
DeleteWinter seems TOO early this year!
Ah, so the cottage goes to sleep during the winter months, Linda. So sad but sweet also. Your photos are always so gorgeous, and I adore the goose and swan. I am glad you had another sleepover this week, before the snow comes. My daughter has already had snow near Ottawa.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
Thanks Patricia.....it has to be done at some point....and the cold has come early!
DeleteGlad you enjoyed the photos.....
Have a great weekend!
Gorgeous bits and bobs! I love that one of the swan planter with the crazing in the glaze. x
ReplyDeleteThanks Em.....how are you doing? Cold over there?
DeleteLove the goose!
ReplyDeleteWe call hens and chicks 'homeguardians' here, probably because they cure so many skin problems and other health issues, from infected ears to warts :)
And love the white trim on that African violet!
Friends of ours made that our of logs....had it for about 17 years...she is on her last legs!
DeleteI thought that was the ALOE plant...interesting!
Violets are awesome!
Love the hens and chicks. And, my violets are blooming again, too. :) You will have lots more time on your hands now, Linda with the cottage closing up. What are you planning to do with it?
ReplyDeleteThat Violet has lots of buds too!!
DeleteWith my spare time, Deb?
Oh....I don't know....perhaps I could CLEAN this house!!! hahaha!
Get ready for Christmas....you know...the usual!
Enjoy your weekend.......how is the carriage house coming along??
It's coming along. We are going there tomorrow to see this week's progress. Lots planned for this coming week. Hope to finish it up soon so we can start moving some boxes outta here. I'm packing and now this house is looking crazy. Oh well, it will soon come together. It's a crazy time of year to be moving. :( Have fun getting ready for Christmas. I look forward to seeing your beautiful home decked out for the holidays. Hugs
DeleteEnjoy your visit!
DeleteBeautiful pictures. Love the goose on the bench, among other, of course! Sad to close up the cottage, I am sure, but another year is on its way!
ReplyDeleteWe got the job done, Devon!
DeleteCleaned out and washed the fridge...
Had a coffee on the bench before we left...
Chilly....but sunny!
Here's to next year...maybe you will come again!
Love your Bits & Bobs, especially your purple african violet with the white trim. Our Xmas cactus is blooming right now, so pretty. Glad you had Miss V. for a sleepover. Keep warm and have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteHI Hester...
DeleteLove Christmas Cactus....I have 2...one with a few blooms....one loaded with blooms!
Lovely weekend to you too ♥️
Hi Linda - stopping by late today - but so worth it. Your blog is sight for sore eyes - and good ones too. I love the way you "stage" each photo - so carefully, and with a freshness that takes me away! I can smell the fresh, crisp air around that birch tree.I feel the warmth of the candle in the last of the pumpkins. I want to sit by that goose on the bench. I want to climb on the rocks with the ladybug. Wow!!! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI would also thank you for visiting my blog homes. You are appreciated!
Well thanks so much Dixie...appreciate your kind words!
DeleteI like the candle pumpkin one too!!
Your blog has hilarious jokes...love that!
You do know I have a second blog? Actually it's the primary. "dcrelief".... "An Artful Blogger" originally displayed my paintings. I ran out stuff... (smile) and the rest is history. Or maybe I shouldn't write this? You may not like dcrelief ... she is rather wordy!!!
DeleteI will give it a read on my next visit :o)
Deleteyour bits and bobs always manage to be spectacular.
ReplyDeleteeven the most mundane things take on a beauty in your lenses.
