Well Worth The Wait..........♥️
When I brought my Jade plant back inside, from its outdoor holiday...
I noticed a few wee flower buds!
I have had this Jade for at least 10 years...
And had never seen this before!
I started taking pictures of it, every few days...to document the progression...
these tiny flowers were very difficult to capture, let me tell you!
But....Yesterday was the magic day! Finally a few had opened...
There are 3 bunches, and only 2 have started to bloom...
And...they are slightly different pinks...lovely eh??
Kind of remind me of a Sedum blossom....
I googled it, as I had never seen blooms before...
Apparently it is quite rare! And....very exciting!
Anyone ever have a Jade bloom for you??
I wonder how long they will last....
***********************************
Hope you are all having a great day...
Not a drop of sun here...just drops of rain...dark and cloudy
Temps are supposed to warm up....for a few days anyway!
Hope to get some outdoor decorating done!
A very lazy day around here...
Gonna have some of my Italian Chicken Soup...Egg salad sandwiches...
With lots of buttery Boston lettuce!
Italian Chicken Soup you say?! I will explain later...hahaha!
Enjoy your evening...
Finishing up a few crochet items...I see a fire in the future as well ♥️
Welcome new followers...and thanks for your lovely comments on Miss V ♥️
She certainly has a lot of Grammas and Grampas out there.....:o)
Enjoy your evening...
Cheers! :o)

How exciting Linda!!! I have never seen a Jade plant bloom, EVER!!! Believe me I've tried! Those flowers may be tiny but they are certainly magnificent!!! They say a woman rules the house where a healthy Rosemary plant grows perhaps it is the same for blooming Jade plants, lol...
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much for sharing, Linda...I think the occasion deserves a wish. Yes, wishing on a blooming Jade plant. I've made mine:)
Hi ~~Louise~~.....
DeleteI have never seen it either! I was quite excited!a wish? Ok.....done♥️
I've never heard of this before! My mother had a jade for probably 20 years and it never bloomed! I haven't been able to keep one alive lately...they get a fungus and droop. :(
ReplyDeleteSame as your bad luck with Christmas Cactus.....very strange, Betsy...
DeleteThe Jade doesn't require a lot of watering....perhaps that was the problem!
I have had a few jades that I have managed to murder, :-(
ReplyDeleteOh dear......so sad Birdie :o(
DeleteAbsolutely amazing! They're beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are incredibly blessed.
:0)
Aren't they!♥️
DeletePretty little flowers....have yours ever flowered?
No, they haven't. I'm afraid I've kept them chopped back and too toasty warm.
DeleteTry them outside next summer.....
DeleteThis look lovely Linda:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Gloria! I was pleasantly surprised!
DeleteYes is lovely when a plant blossom or grow:)
DeleteIm happy with my two basil's pot I make and I love them !
I ♥️ Basil.....
DeleteWow! That is gorgeous. I am another one that has never seen a jade plant bloom. I had one when I was in my twenties and I'm sure I neglected it terribly. I think I should get myself a new one and see if it will bloom for me. I think you have 'the touch' :Linda. My violets are in full bloom again this week and look beautiful. Monday would be a good day to work outside as we are expecting it to be +10. Have fun decorating.
ReplyDeleteHi Deb...it was certainly something I had never seen before...that is why I googled it!
DeleteWe went for a nice walk this morning...all the snow is gone...raked a few leaves...tidied up the yard...
Rain heading in for this afternoon :o(
Good for you. I have a huge jade plant with zero blooms.
ReplyDeleteThe menu sounds wonderful always!

DO you put it outside in the summer Jane?
DeletePerhaps that is the key!
Hi Linda. I've never known a Jade to bloom - that is beautiful. I'll happily wait to hear about the soup!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the comments and visits to my blog homes!!! Have a warm cozy weekend.
Good! I must take a picture of it...and explain how it came to be Italian!
DeleteWow, I have had jade plants ever since I was married, and have never seen this. What a pretty pink flower it is, too. If you ever figure out what made it bloom, you must let us know..jade plants all over the world will appreciate it! xxx
ReplyDeleteHahaha!
DeleteNo idea Patricia...perhaps the going outside in the summer has something to do with it..
It has been going out for only 2 summers...and when inside...in full afternoon sun!
I used to have a jade plant years ago but it never bloomed. However I have a friend who says his is blooming now too. He has several of them, but the one that is blooming is 37 years old! He puts his outside in partial sun every summer and then in the fall, after he brings them in, they bloom. He also has the most amazing Night Blooming Cereus. Are you familiar with them? I will send you photos. Each flower only blooms for a few hours, right after darkness until just before dawn. They are stunning.
ReplyDeleteMe too, Suzanne...perhaps that is the secret...I must look up those Cereus...sounds interesting!
DeleteJust looked it up...they are Gogeous! He must be on e serious gardener!
DeleteI didn't even know Jade plants could bloom haha. So tell me a bit more about how you genetically modified said plant...
ReplyDeleteHi Linda! Remember me?
HI Blue....
DeleteMe either! hahaha! there is a first time for everything, I guess!
Of course I remember you...
You are unforgettable Blue!
I never knew that these flowered, it must be a rare occurrence indeed! The flowers are so pretty and delicate aren't they. I hope that they last for ages! I wonder if now it has started to flower if it will keep on doing so perhaps? I look forward to seeing your crochet!! Hope you are having a good weekend. xx
ReplyDeleteTime will tell Amy...there are a few more flowers open this morning...will take a few pics...
DeleteCrochet to come soon!
Never seen jade flower before ~ you really must have green fingers or talk sweetly to them . . .
ReplyDeleteMy bedroom is coloured jade ~ a nice dark green.
Weather wet and uninviting here . . . so much rain of late . . .
HI Eddie...
DeleteI think it is the "talk sweetly to them", that made them bloom!
We are due for more rain today...10*c...all the snow is gone! YAY!!!
Enjoy your Sunday...how about posting?
Do you talk to all your plants?
DeleteI have heard they respond to kindness and gentleness . . . a lot of people really believe this.
Hopefully I will post soon ~ I have been working hard transferring cassette tapes to audio CD, editing them and adding track markers and then making the master CD on my computer. Two to go and then I shall appear in BlogLand as if I materialise out of the misty waters of oblivion. So have no fear I shall re-appear . . . . . lol
Absolutely!
DeleteI also treat them rough if they don't bloom! Hahaha!
Waiting for your triumphant return!
I've never know a jade plant to bloom, had one for many years and it washouts lush and green. You must have that magic green thumb :)
ReplyDeleteSnow is just about gone here this morning, rain and temperatures rising today and tomorrow.
YUp...that is me...Mrs Green Thumbs!
DeleteSnow gone here too...rain on the way!
What a beautiful delicate little flower...just like Miss V!!
ReplyDeleteJane x
Well Jane....that is such a lovely thing to say....thank you♥️
DeleteHave a great day......
Agree with Jane . . . . :)

DeleteI've had those plants with succulent leaves in my old house, but now I don't , they're pretty and very resistant
ReplyDeleteHI Dez...

They are very dependable....
