Happy Sunday!
This Handsome fella was visiting last week...
Eating the berries off my Juniper bush...
Wonder if he is staying all Winter?
I do hope so!
Hoping you are all having a great weekend...
The weather could be better...but at least it stopped snowing!!
High today of 10*c....rain later on...
We have done some yard work...and went for a nice refreshing walk...
Lunch was delicious...We had Western Sandwiches...
And...of course...some of my Italian Chicken Soup! hahaha!
Dinner will be Summer Pasta...just because!...
Crusty fragrant garlic bread...Greek Salad...
Miss V and her Mom will be joining us♥️
I must get back down to the kitchen...I am making some cabbage rolls...
Rice is cooking....ground beef browning...I make the "lazy" kind
HUGE cabbage was $1.50! Think I might try some cabbage soup too...
Anyone got a good recipe for that???
Enjoy your day...
Cheers!
Linda :o)

Sweet robin photos. I haven't seen one for awhile now. Tomorrow I'll be filling my feeders again. *oinkers* I'm not sure I know of anyone who cooks as much as you, Linda. Your boyfriend is a lucky man. Just took an apple pie out of the oven for dinner. I had a craving. :) Weather is mild here and tomorrow even better. Enjoy your family home for Sunday dinner.
ReplyDeleteI also eat too,Deb! The pasta was yummy tonight...
Delete3 pans of cabbage rolls....one for daughter Lissa and SIL....
Look at you....baking pies! You must be in a good mood!
Love the bright, spunky robin. So cheery and bright they are! If you find a good cabbage recipe me let me know,
ReplyDeleteWill do.....the cabbage rolls smell great!
DeleteLovely photos ! Oh all the foods sound YUMMY ! Yes our Robin is still hanging about I find every year now they tend to stay around more through out the cold . Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteIt makes me feel like Spring!
DeleteWell, sweet little robin, what are you doing still hanging around. I thought it might be spring when I scrolled down to the first photo, Linda. What a beauty to see. It's mild here too and got up to 7 this afternoon. Monday is light rain and 12 then by Thursday it's calling for snow and colder weather moving in after. It does feel like spring right now. I rather like it. :)
ReplyDeleteOh....I wish it was Spring!
DeleteWe are in for some heavy rain tomorrow.....
Actually did some yard work!
I made cabbage soup last week.
ReplyDeleteChunks of ham, carrots, onion, garlic, potatoes... Whole cloves, peppercorns, and chicken stock... shredded cabbage...
I'll have to see if I can copy the recipe.
:0)
Shredded cabbage? Very interesting.....I thought of everything except the ham.....
DeleteI thought perhaps some rice.....and chopped cabbage....but the shredded sounds better!
Nice little Robin.
ReplyDeleteI am sure if you can sweet talk a jade to flower then you can persuade him to stay for winter ~ find some worms and cook him a nice meal . . . lol
Hi Eddie.....
DeleteNO worms in my kitchen! Hahaha!
Perhaps an apple would keep him happy!
Red is devouring my pumpkins!
Happy Sunday to you. Hmm..I was gently reminded that I haven't commented on your flowering jade plant. It's amazing and lovely, of course. I always love your details about your dinner menu. Cabbage soup? How can I be lady like? I usually stay away because of its effect on the tummy. Dinner here is easy as I defrosted some lasagna. Also, green beans steamed with toasted almonds. Enjoy your family. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Hester....I see you got the subtle hint! Hahaha!
DeleteYou mean cabbage makes you "fluff"! Hahaha!
Probably me too......oh well!
I'll have a big bowl before fitness on Tuesday!
Enjoy your evening....
Funny lady! :)
Delete:o)
DeleteHe's a cutie! We had robins stay all winter last year. I always wonder why they don't go further south where it's warm!
ReplyDeleteMe too Betsy.....I don't ever remember them staying....except for the last few years.....hope they get enough to eat!
Deletebeautiful robin red breast!!! and the magical little jade plant last post... you probably should be written up in some botanical journal!
ReplyDeletethe only cabbage soup i know of is the one for losing weight that supposedly was from the mayo clinic. yeah. right!
we're having lovely autumn weather finally. LOL. better late than never i guess.
the trees never turned. stayed green. died in the freeze and snow. turned brown. BLEW off!!! LOL. FUN.
oh well. maybe next year. XOXO♥
Hi Tammy....
DeleteGlad you are finally getting some cooler Autumn weather....
We are in for heavy rain tomorrow....
I need that recipe! Starting to get a spare tire around my middle. :o(
Hi Linda! Robins are scarce but I've got six adult Bluebirds. They are something to see.
ReplyDeleteCold here on Saturday but my God-daughter and I had a yard sale. Lots of fun - little purchased.
I mostly shy away from cabbage but love sour kraut with pork chops and a lovely brown gravy. Sounds weird I know but the gravy adds a little sweetness on the side of the kraut.
Sounds like you've been having fun!
Oh Dixie.....I have never seen a Bluebird in real life! Lucky you!
DeleteI am not much on sauerkraut.....
He is lovely!
ReplyDeleteI have a juniper bush too and the birds love it!
The crazy squirrels are eating the berries too!
DeleteRed has nearly eaten a whole pumpkin!
Sweet robin red-breast. Going to be even warmer tomorrow - kooky weather.
ReplyDeleteDad and I went to hear the Count Basie Orchestra last night and after it was over we walked for a while along Bloor Street because it was so mild. VERY expensive stores along there now - reminds me of 5th Avenue in New York. Tiffany, Prada, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Cartier, Esacada. Louis Vuitton. Unbelievable.
Lazy cabbage rolls - that's what I need!
You sure get around down there in Toronto!
DeleteHow lucky you are to spend the evening with your Dad♥️
Haven't been down since last January....and that was just to a Leafs game....
Make some! Easy peasy!
Seriously, I leave comments here and they disappear. I think the word verification is too challenging for me! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI did say..,
That robin! He was just here yesterday and now he is all the way on the other side of Canada. I know it is the same one by the look in his eyes. Very beady and not trustworthy.
Hahaha!
DeletePerhaps I will disable the word verification for a while...ok?
But if I start getting spam....back on it goes!
What a beautiful little robin, Linda. I have only ever seen one, once. They remind me of Christmas cards, so cheerful, and looking good near the snow!
ReplyDeleteI love the British Robin....he is teeny tiny....the North American one is quite large....
DeleteI do love to hear them in the Spring and Summer♥️
Hello little Robin Red Breast! I made a favorite soup of ours the other day. Beef and Barley. So yummy. Had some tonight again.
ReplyDeleteXO Kris
Isn't soup THE best!
DeleteI could set it every darn day.....
I'll bet yours is yummy♥️
I hope that you had a great Sunday and that Monday will be wonderful too! I hope that your little robin stays awhile, he will be lovely to watch out for! xx
ReplyDeleteHi Amy....
DeleteI did spy him the other day....but he was hidden in the shrubbery!
I hope he finds enough to eat....
Today is dark....gloomy....rainy.....but going up to 15*c!
I too, enjoyed your Robin pictures! You have me curious though... what is a "western sandwich?" Here in Georgia, I've never heard of that. It just HAS to be something special, I know!!
ReplyDeleteHey Don....
DeleteA toasted western is.....2eggs,chunks of ham, green onion and green pepper...
Scrambled together....fry in a small pan....kinda lime an omelette....in a sandwich....dip in ketchup! Delish!
Have a great day!
Sounds delicious!! Will certainly be giving this one a try!!
Deletewhat a lovely orange belly he/she has! Hope he didn't swallow Garfield!
ReplyDeleteCabbage rolls are our national dish, or one of them, nasty smell while cooking, though :)
Ha! Nope..that is our red breasted robin!
DeleteAre you Polish?
yes...definitely a smell...but a good one!
Polish? Never! Boo and hiss :) I'm Vojvodinian!
DeleteSo........Serbian?
DeleteNope, Vojvodinian :) I have no Serbian blood in me, mother is Bulgarian, late father was from another nation, so I'm Vojvodinian because I was born here.
DeleteOops!
DeleteWhat a cute little guy!!!! We have lots of those in ny. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the wee English Robins...so cute!
DeleteLove all the kitchen fun you're having.
ReplyDeleteMore fun eating it!
