Take a minute...

To remember those who died...

So we could live...

  1. we celebrate it today too, it's a National Holiday, although my country was freed a week before November 11th. We were the biggest casualty of the war, with one million dead out of 4 million people in total.

  2. A moment of silence to remember....
My numbers to prove I am not a robot were 911 - how weird is that?

  5. We had our Remembrance Day on Sunday and we have a two minute silence at 11 am. Although I was alone in the kitchen I stood absolutely still for 2 minutes. We owe so much to those young men, some of them younger than my beloved son . . .
I remember a time when everything just stopped everywhere for 2 minutes while people paid their respect. Reminds me when Princess Diana died . . . at her funeral the whole country stopped and cars even pulled over on the motorways . . . drivers got out and just stood there . . .

  7. Very moving ceremony in Ottawa today. I wrote a poem and put it on FB in memory of all those who sacrificed on our behalf. Men... women... and those family and friends who continue to remember them and mourn them. Lest We Forget.

  8. My FIL was a young Canadian in the US Air Force. I always think of them too on these special remembrance days.
