  2. Hi Linda - That Red is really cute. I know he's bad, though but you still like him, right? haha! I had a chance to post today after getting home from the lot. It is really cold here and we are hunkering down by the fire tonight. Loved your photos today. I see Miss V is visiting again. I had Gwynn here twice this week. Lots of fun, for sure. Enjoy the family home. Have a nice weekend, Deb

  4. Are you sure his name isn't Bad, Bad Leroy Brown? Baddest squirrel in the whole damn town?

  5. I saw a little red squirrel out on my weeping birch a couple of times this past week.
It's smaller than the gray ones and very handsome.

    1. Have you ever heard them referred to as Fairy-diddles or Chickarees?
      I learned something new today.

    2. Is there any evidence that Red is a solitary red squirrel?
I wonder whether he will find a lady friend.
I thought all squirrels were grey except for our original red ones in UK.
Here in UK some larger grey illegal squirrel immigrants muscled in and decimated our red squirrel population over a hundred years ago but the dear little mites are now fighting back gallantly and becoming more prevalent.

It would be nice if there are more than one. He seems to love that pumpkin.

    3. Nope....there are more....they chase each other around the fence tops!
These a Reds, actually chase away the bigger black and grey squirrels!
He was back at it this morning! When it freezes, he will be able to get at the seeds more easily!
      Enjoy your Sunday!

  9. Oh goodness...he does have a bit of "coral" lipstick on it seems! I had been spraying my pumpkins with furniture polish, a little trick I learned and it worked great. Then I got a bit lax and I now have a huge mess on my front porch! They've gotten all the seeds ,though. It makes me happy they won't starve this winter! Ha!

Your boyfriend looks very dapper in that sweater, he needs to counsel my guy on how to dress for a leisurely day. Hope you had a ball with the kids!

  13. I love squirrels - so does my Mom. We used to feed them when I was little. Much to the chagrin of my father who would say, "They'll destroy the garden!" Too bad. :-) I still love them. Remind me to tell you about my friend Carrie and her squirrel adventure. Red is adorable and I LOVE THE LIPS! Also love boyfriend's sweater.

But...when the Jay or the Cardinal visits.....it is a different story! Hahaha!
Red is very mischievous....even got inside once.....so it can be scary!
His lips tell the tale! I'll tell my bf his sweater is popular!

  19. Wow, your photos and stories always make me smile! And it's so nice the way you take the time to respond to each comment. We're doing a little redecorating today, scraping wallpaper off the walls of one of the bathrooms. Not my favourite task, but I really don't mind the next part...the painting. I think that our BC friend Devon will be doing a lot of that very soon! :) Have a good week...
