Hop In...We Are Headed To Town.....

took these 2 thru the car window!

A few weeks ago...

On a particularly cloudy day at the cottage...

We headed into Port Colborne to hit a few thrifty stores...

The drive in was beautiful...

We took the long route, that winds along the lakeside...

I had seen these fellows all Summer, and finally got a shot of them...

So friendly...nuzzled right up to me...

And BIG!!!

Their coats were a beautiful Auburn...and they had very soft noses♥️

This Antique store was all decked out for Halloween...

Pretty cool, eh?

Another favorite store..

The Ravens Nest...

Great repurposed and painted furniture in here..

Love the RED!

This leads to the Welland Canal...

Lots of loaded tankers make the trip thru here...

And down to the St Lawrence river...

Or to Lake Huron...

Only pleasure boats here that day...

Hope you are all having a great day...

        Weather is kind of the "nothing"...no sun...no wind...no rain...NOTHING!!

I like the no wind part!!!

I would like to welcome a few new followers...hope you enjoy visiting...

                 On the menu tonight...

Burgers & Fries...but not just ordinary burgers...oh no!

                              Avacado,chipotle,tomato,lettuce burgers...yummo!

                                           { and mayo of course!}

Enjoy the rest of your day...

           Cheers!   :o)

  1. Gorgeous trees, Linda. And what pretty horses. My mother grew up with them and loved horses all her life. I think I would love that store...no, I know I would. Dinner sounds good. We are having fish, fries and coleslaw. Hugs

Unfortunately, no prices on anything....you have to ask! So....I didn't!
      Enjoy your weekend, Deb!

  2. Love the opening tree shot and the horses.
    Do you ride, Linda?
    I tried ONCE ~ the horse knew I was a novice and decided to have some fun at my expense . . . . . . lol . . . . . . :)

    1. Hi Eddie....
      I did....when I was a kid!
My Father had 2 Clydesdale horses when I was very young....
      Did he throw you?

    2. Interesting about your father's horses.
No he didn't throw me but would not do anything I wanted him to do.
He did the opposite. When I wanted him to follow the others he broke into a canter and when I pulled the reigns left he went right. In the end a little girl leading us just whistled and he fell in line . . . . . I'll try to remember the details and do a post about it. No sure who was laughing the most ~ the trackers or the horse . . . . .lol

    3. Or the little girl leading you!

    4. Yes . . .maybe she did.
Another thing about horses in our family . . . my cousin owned a famous racehorse called "What's Up Boys?" . . .and he came 2nd in The Grand National 2002 ~ he was leading until just at the end when he was caught. He won The Hennessey Gold Cup and Roden was the last person the Queen Mother presented a cup to and it was on television . . . All very exciting stuff . . . :)

  3. I haven't been to Port Colborne in years. My Darling's stepdad used to go there quite often. I recall watching the freighters go through the locks one day. Pretty impressive. I know they go past us too but they're so far out in the lake that we rarely ever see them.

I like to drive along the lakeshore too.

    1. Perhaps that would be the ideal place to meet up next Summer!
We can browse the shops, and grab something to eat.....
      Too far for you?

    2. Nah, I can drive that far. :)
I've been to Toronto and back in a day, even if I did get lost on the way home...
I think Port Colborne sounds like the perfect place to meet up.

  6. Those gentle creatures! The first looks like he is eating the fence! What a lovely drive!

Yes, a little of everything and nothing, here, too.

Your menu sounds wonderful...best to dress those burgers when cooking rather than with condiments later as we do here!

  7. Those horses are the most glorious colour! Love, love, love. I used to ride. And the shops look beautiful. I must say, I get very peeved when prices are not marked on items and I leave the shop immediately. I think it's just rude not to do that. And I know others who feel the same way. Shame because I do spend good money in stores like that. Your burgies sounded sooooooooo good. Could you toss one my way, please? :-)

  9. Love the colours of Autumn! We've been having the strangest of weather here with it being 26*C today in November and that difference between day and night temps makes the leaves change into lovely colours!
Love the horses! We had one when me was a little coon, but I was afraid of her and never even touched her

  10. Oh such pretty colors!!!!! Had a stinking rotten week here! Canister vac broke. Upright blew two days later. One toilet out of service! Yesterday, my kitchen fridge!!!! Had to frantically transfer, shoving really, all of contents into garage fridge. Broke my toe yesterday too. And today, woke with a bladder infection! Damn!

  12. What a lovely drive in to Port Colbourne! The Raven's Nest looks like a fantastic store. I would love it! I like 'nothing' days - no rain, no wind, so sun but calm and quiet. Hope you enjoyed yourself and will show us your thrifty finds.

  13. Count me in for a burger. Sounds great.

Wonderful pictures. We hit a few fun places too where they sold neat little things. Love those places. Though there was one that we hit today where the smells and air were so bad, inside, that I had to leave.
